A large group of students in the United States makeup a large population of English language learners. Students who are considered English language learners undergo many challenges in their education, and without the necessary support and resources from their educators it can make it hard for them to succeed. A teacher plays a significant role in the success of a child, and it is crucial for them to be able to provide the proper education to students whose first language is not English. It is also very important for teachers to understand the challenges that these students are facing. Having empathy towards the students allows for the teacher to create better connections and relationships to better help them.
I am currently teaching at Swainston Middle School in North Las Vegas. Our student population is very diverse, including English Language Learners (ELLs). During this time as a teacher, I have served students with different language needs. It has been my goal to engage ELL students in my lessons as every other student. It is my opinion that as teachers we are all language teachers.
The purpose for students to go through so many stages to reach their goal of becoming a teacher is to make them more informed and experienced about their career. The professional dispositions allow the students to know how to behave professionally, be ethically professional towards their students as well as colleagues, personally develop their skills as a preservice candidate, and successfully go through the all the stages to become a teacher. In my experiences from K-12, I have never considered a teacher to be unprofessional to my peers or myself. A teacher who comes to school dressed accordingly for work is considered professional.
What do you currently teach and where? I am a December graduate of the University of Charleston. I graduated magna cum laude. After graduation I began substituting. I substituted at a variety of schools in Kanawha County in a variety of grades.
I believe that each and every child is unique in their own way. Who needs a secure and caring environment in which they can grow and mature emotionally, cognitively, physically, and socially. That’s why for me it’s important to help the students meet their full potential in this areas by providing an environment that is safe and also a place where they are able to share their ideas with each other and to let them explore their curiosity because after all that’s how they learn. As a teacher I feel that we should motivate our students to become the best that they can be by incorporating in our curriculum the many theories that we have learn in this class so that we can help them achieve their full potential. Since not all students learn the same
Staring the beginning of my career as a teacher, I'm moving towards having my own classroom. Being a head teacher you are in charge of what is begin taught in the classroom, and find ways to prepare the children for the next coming years. Working with children ages three too five is the beginning of the child's life, were its important age on who they are as an individual. The school I would like to work with would be public, a spot were all children are welcome, no matter the back ground or were their from. Children at this age are excited to go to school, and meet new friends this age is were their spirits beginning and their enthusiastic.
My teacher took the standard path to becoming a teacher. He was an English Major at Kean University, from where earned my Bachelor’s degree, and she then went to pursue a Master’s in Education from Rutgers University. Besides the obvious duty of providing an education teachers have extensive duties and responsibilities beyond just making lesson plans, and giving assessments. They are responsible for maintaining a safe teaching environment by maintain discipline in the classroom and also communicating with students and also with their parents about their progress. Many teachers also get involved in coaching sports teams, or sponsoring school clubs and activities.
As I mentioned previously, I was the first family member to attend college, and while my family was there to support me they really didn’t understand the college process. Mrs. Gaines is a prime example of how a teacher can make a difference in a student’s life, without her help I may not have attended a four year university, and instead I probably would have opted to go a different route. What she did had a lasting impact on my life and I would like to do the same for my students. Whether that means helping a student through the college process, or assisting them with a dilemma they are facing outside of school. I want to pay it forward by using the teaching skills Mrs. Gaines taught me as well as the experiences we had and bring them into my classroom.
From teaching preschoolers in Kindermagic to being an intern at an Intermediate School, teaching has been a big part of my highschool life. Teaching is my favorite thing in the world. I love watching students learn and grow. My role as an educator is to make students feel safe in the classroom and make the learning material fun and creative. In the classroom, I want to promote and incorporate hands-on learning.
Before I began my first semester of teaching, I decided to set some goals to help me work toward becoming the teacher my students need and deserve. One of those goals is to ensure all of my students succeed academically. I believe that the purpose of education is to promote and ensure academic success for all learners; therefore, I want to give all of my students an equal opportunity to gain the knowledge, strategies, and the experiences they need to succeed in the forthcoming semester and through their lives. Coming into the classroom in the middle of the school year this has been a very difficult goal to accomplish. When I first started teaching Engage New York Math, at the beginning my Math lessons were directed toward all of
We have to plan ahead the future of our learners by working together with them for a clear vision of life. Teachers must furthermore respond well and timely to all the students in class. As much as we as teachers expect respect from our learners we should also give them that very same respect in return. One other thing we should show interest in knowing our learners, their characters, personalities and their family backgrounds. Students should understand that education is worthy and we also as professionals learn a lot from them everyday.
It’s another day of sitting through seven periods. Seven hours. Seven classes. You find yourself in a hard desk daydreaming about your future. You think to yourself, “how is chemistry going to help me with my future in graphic designing.”
1. I want to become a teacher because I wish my teaching with my students to learn about special education in schools. The school is getting a good education about students with teacher need to teach a focus on development. It's was my experience before to go training for observing in elementary school for pre-kindergarten is a classroom and teacher has three different way. 2.
As a girl, I would play school with my group of friends and I would always take the role of a teacher. And through my educational career, I continued to take roles revolving assisting students as a mentor, tutor, and teaching assistant. Through these roles and as a student, I had the privilege to be around teaching professionals that inspired and motivated students to pursue higher education to make a contribution to our society in a positive way. To me, those teachers are my superheroes and the reason to why I want to become a teacher, I first-hand experience the impact they have made through teaching.
To understand why I feel all students deserve to learn, I must provide my own definition of “students” and “learning.” For me, students are far more than charges entrusted to me for a few hours a day. To me, students are the future. And though this is a cliche often spoke by teachers, to understand my need to teach, I must explain what this means to me, personally. I want to teach because one day every one of the children in my class will be adults.
