Beliefs about Teaching and Learning
I believe that the purpose for teaching is that students learn. Because in the math classroom there are learning standards that the students have to meet, my goal as a teacher is to make sure the students reach those standards. I will teach the information in a structured way, and I will provide the students with activities that spark their interests. Students have different interests and teachers should use those interests when teaching any topic in any classroom. Students will learn through modeling, guided practice and independent practice. In my classroom I will incorporate hands-on and mind-stimulating activities that will activate the students’ prior knowledge, learn new information, which will direct them to incorporating the new knowledge into several aspects of life. Providing students with the appropriate activities and strategies will spark in them the desire to be life-long learners. In addition, because most jobs require team work, students will work cooperatively with each

In my classroom I will have a goal for preventive and supportive behavior strategies. Because middle level students go through physical, emotional and social development, there are times when they have unpredicted emotions and corrective actions will be necessary. Nevertheless, clearly stated rules, procedures, expectations and routines will create a safe environment, which in turn will positively impact students’ behavior, and therefore the instruction will have a greater impact on the students’ learning. Students want to know and see that teachers are people, just like them, and we have things in common. I will always be there for my students, I will listen to them and will share my life experiences. Through everything that will go on in the classroom, I will engage students in activities that spark their curiosity and will help every student
Although it can be difficult for teachers to make time to do something new in the classroom, it is never impossible to try. Students need teachers that care enough to teach to the best of their ability, not just teach the standards and get by. In the chapter “How Engaged and Alive We Can All Be!” Jeffrey D. Wilhelm states that, “with some simple reframing (of curriculum into inquiry, of teaching for engaged transaction instead of information transmission), we can meet our students’ basic human needs for motivation, accomplishment, community, and much more” (Wilhelm 14-15). This idea can not be stressed enough.
A large group of students in the United States makeup a large population of English language learners. Students who are considered English language learners undergo many challenges in their education, and without the necessary support and resources from their educators it can make it hard for them to succeed. A teacher plays a significant role in the success of a child, and it is crucial for them to be able to provide the proper education to students whose first language is not English. It is also very important for teachers to understand the challenges that these students are facing. Having empathy towards the students allows for the teacher to create better connections and relationships to better help them.
Spending late nights grading, dealing with parents, a teacher’s salary isn’t sufficient for the broad job descriptions they are responsible to meet. Although it takes someone with a loving heart to be a teacher, they are suppose to teach what will become of the future. Therefore wouldn’t they have the most important job? In addition to be a successful teacher, first teachers have to go school themselves. Moreover after comparing South Texas College, Texas State University and University of Rio Grande Valley based on my criteria of tuition cost, location, and strength of program, University of Rio Grande Valley would be my best choice in helping me pursue a career in interdisciplinary studies.
1. Teaching experience: I started teaching Sunday school when I was fifteen. A year later I became a Kumon teacher and taught children 5-6 years old reading and math. I have more experience teaching children in their early years. Currently, I am a preschool teaching assistant in Stamford, CT.
I believe that education is one tool in every avenue of life that each student should cherish. Teachers provide that foundation for lifelong learners because we shape and mold these young men and women every day. My belief as a teacher is that every child is capable of learning no matter what academic setting they are in, and each student learns in their own unique way. Showing each student, you believe in their success, as well as continuous encouragement, they will show you what is embedded inside of them. My goal as a teacher is to encourage and show every student what his or her potential is!
For the three and a half years I’ve been in high school, I have heard many opinions about teacher. Some being suggestions to a underclassman, review of the teacher, and some being very detail rants about a teacher. After hearing about those teacher, I wonder if a student should be allowed to give a grade to a teacher. I think that students giving rating or grades to a teacher is a good thing for many reasons. One of these things include, helping parents with young kids find schools with good teachers.
Teaching If people like kids and love summers you should consider being a teacher. They get to work with kids all day and don't HAVE to work in summers unless you want to teach summer school. the first thing people probably wonder is how much teachers make. Well it depends on what kind of teacher they are.
As a learner, the most salient dimensions of learning for me is are the evolution of knowledge and technology, not to be afraid to ask questions and be open to different views. One of the most positive outcomes is a commitment to “radical openness,” the will to explore different perspectives and change one’s mind as new information is presented (hooks, 2003, p. 48). Understanding that there are always more sides to a story just like there can be many solutions to a problem is key to better prepare these students. Entering graduate school and then becoming a teacher, it will be important for me to maintain this openness for each student. To know that each student is different and have a classroom full of them, will be a process to maintain such openness.
A teacher plays a significant role in ensuring that course learning objectives are met, and knowledge is passed to the learner. A teacher controls the information taught and manipulates the amount of time allocated to a learning activity. A teacher should be able to create a classroom environment that is inclusive and that fosters participation from the learners. The learning environment should be learner centered and must encourage student’s ability to critically think and build confidence in the knowledge about the subject material.
My class will take a learner centered approach whereas the students culture, beliefs, attitudes, skills and knowledge will provide a basis for understanding. While also including knowledge centered methods like real life scenarios for problems solving. Assessment will be key to providing feedback, setting goals, and learning what students are retaining. Students will feel safe and can make mistakes without consequence. While building a community inside our classroom, our class will be welcoming in parents and the school community as part of our classroom family and this will be part of our everyday environment,
Since I was young, I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher. I want to be a teacher to help people, inspire students to learn, and show everyone what the world has to offer. I chose elementary education because I am like a mature child myself in the sense that I love to explore new things. Igniting the desire to learn about the world, not just common core material, is a goal I aim to achieve for every student. I also want to teach young children to be compassionate, respectful, and capable in everyday life.
I like to see the progress and the ability the children, teenagers, and adults have, to grasp a subject meanwhile having a comprehension of what was taught to them and later applying it to their lives. As a teacher, I would love to be the one who can make an impact on someone’s life and be able to help them achieve greatness. The more I think about why I want to teach, the more I start to realize that I want to teach to make a difference in education. As a future educator, I do believe that everyone should have the opportunity to receive the best education that is available for them. I want to be part of the learning experience, and help students expand their knowledge to the next level.
Through this activity, the teachers assure that the learners are able to participate fully in the curriculum. As the supports given by the teacher the learners allow them to transfer their skills and knowledge to
I have always had a passion for teaching others helping with problems that they cannot solve but that I can. I know my willingness to help others and put them before myself is a trait I inherited from my mother. She was an Art teacher for many years at different districts and different grade levels until she became sick and was forced to retire. I loved hearing the success stories about her kids and the different awards they were winning in their art competitions. I loved seeing her excitement when she told me about a new project she had come up with that her students couldn’t wait to start.
Also, he mentioned that his preference is for an interactive approach that blends direct education, teacher and skilled student modeling, reflection on the part of students, and group activities that let students to share their knowledge about
