.2 Working Conditions of Teachers
3.2.1 Poor Teaching Atmosphere
Most of the public school condition is allover Cambodia is very poor especially in the remote areas. Understanding the school and classroom environment is a critical dimension of teaching quality. Adequate infrastructure and working conditions support the teaching function and enables student learning. Appropriate physical facilities and availability of teaching aids provide the basic elements for engagement in a teaching-learning relationship. A balanced teacher-student ratio allows teachers to dedicate sufficient attention to children’s individual needs. Meanwhile, the terms of contracting can shape job satisfaction and the attractiveness of the teaching profession.
3.2.2 Dissatisfaction with Class Room In public school, there is no proper activity from the school head to make classroom neat and clean so that teacher can enjoy to teach and students can learn in better way. The conditions are perceived by teachers to be adequate. Although there is certainly room for improvement, teachers generally consider school infrastructure and availability of teaching materials and textbooks to be appropriate. Urban teachers are more inclined to

Allowances for hardship postings have been insufficient to elicit demand. Low teacher pay makes it difficult for teachers to work in areas without support of an extended family, existing housing or land for subsistence farming. Local area recruitment has been espoused as a policy initiative to address chronic shortages of teachers in underserved areas. Quotas and lower entry requirements to teacher professional training have been promoted for candidates in these localities. Attracting candidates with strong ties to underserved communities will increase the uptake of hardship postings and reduce teacher turnover. Active recruitment efforts appear to have started to pay
This data along with data from other cities such as Chicago where only 0.1% of teachers between 2005 and 2008 were dismissed for performance-related circumstances, proves that in the united stated the public school system is broken and in need of help as stated in “Waiting for
Build positive relationships with students will help establish a more comfortable classroom environment. Michie have put a great amount of effort at trying to get to know his students on a more personal level, such as through individual home visiting and personal questionnaires about each student’s likes and dislikes about school. In order for students to feel that the information is relevant to them, teachers should make connections and relate to real life examples. Michie uses his past classroom experiences to connect to his students and further sparks class discussion. Michie would try to relate to what the students were going through in their lives to get to know them better.
Teachers must feel welcomed, valued and safe in their environment. To achieve that end, the
In addition to that, there is a problem with the lack of necessary resource in a school. Whether this is seen in only a few schools or a lot, it is unacceptable and must be fixed. How can we expect these students to learn, work, and live on an equal playing field when they don’t even have books, while others have every resource you could ever want in a school? We have this idea of education being the panacea of world struggle, but is it really? When we have all these schools that are not fairly treated.
The school system depends only on discipline, not on educating every individual about the truth. Coates goes into more detail in his book in the sense of evaluating the school structure in Baltimore. Coates belief that “the laws of schools were aimed at something distant and vague”(Coates 25), the education Coates experience wasn’t allowing them to have critical thinking, social interaction with the world. They avoid getting students be asked for their own opinion. In addition, Baltimore was more opac to the sense of teaching with a highly precise education.
The school funding is not equal in America. Some schools are able to have many different programs and some cannot even afford one. The government is giving more money to schools in the “better” areas, but nothing can tell you what makes one area better than the other. The government wants people to be equal even though they are not giving the money out equally that effects people. The schools in America should have equal funding so that each child can receive the same chance as another.
Even after the bell rings, there is constant work happening to keep the school district running. The Council of Learning definitely hit this point home for me. In their twenty page document on student progress, they not only explained the importance of academic progress but the importance of pushing for a safer school climate for their students. Outside of the report they addressed the difficulty of excessive testing requirements and how it is putting down students. Only having had the perspective of a student, it was reassuring to see educators seeing a problem and actively seeking a way to fix the problem.
Good morning to all! Today I will be talking about the working conditions during the industrial revolution. Well to start, the industrial revolution took place from the 18th century to the 19th century. The industrial revolution originally began in Britain in the late 1700s. To sum it up, The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes.
There are public schools all over the world and those in public schools are not getting the proper education that they need. It seems public schools only provide the public with the bare minimum. This bare minimum can become very discouraging to parents, students and the entire public community in which the school is. Most Supreme Court rulings agree that school districts across the nation, and across the world, really only need to provide the bare minimum legally. This present an issue, if the professionals are only supposed to give the bare minimum then they themselves will be given the bare minimum.
2.2 Teacher resilience A good number of studies has shown that facing various challenges for teachers in different years of their teaching is inevitable. This issue become important when teaches lack the ability of managing these difficulties which may result in burnout and attrition. To be on the positive side, equipping teachers with qualities that prevent them from frustration and make them to thrive than just survive was an ongoing concern for teacher educators and policy makers. Resilience, as a specific strategy that individuals usually apply when they face a kind of adverse situation (Castro, et al., 2010), has been attracted a lot of attention among researchers.
things as simple as a seating arrangement promotes fairness. every student gets a spot to sit and no desk is any better than another. avoiding favoritism and prejudice is also a way to promote fairness in class. students notice when the same people are called on repeatedly. As a teacher it is important to make sure all students have access to learning.
According to Lewis (2009) in his book “Understanding Pupil Behaviour: Classroom Management Techniques For Teachers” mentioned that there are some effects if the teachers don’t know about the students’ characteristics such as stress and Post-Guru Syndrom. Stress happens when they feel unable to maintain an classroom in which students can get on with their work and teachers can teach without unnecessary interruption, it is usually part of failure teacher in managing the classroom misbehavior of students and Post-Guru Syndrom happens when the teachers become inconsistent to implement the appropriate technique in teaching for students and finally
With the company’s culture in mind and want for success, they will select the best candidates to fill these positions. Companies that promote within instead of through external sources also builds long-term growth and satisfaction. It also reduces recruiting and training costs. An organization could use bulletin boards in break rooms, intranet sites, and by electronically notifying them (Snell, Morris, & Bohlander, 17). Maersk decided that they would recruit from the inside, this does save money and time.
It also aimed to know the pre-service teacher’s ways and strategies on managing a classroom environment. The study considers the student’s personal information such as their name (optional) gender, age, and section. The researchers limited to the study are the fourth year students enrolled in the second semester, the school year 2016-2017 of Batangas State University who are in the field as part of their curriculum and training to become professional teachers. Each of the respondents was given a questionnaire to answer.
The research noted that recruitment procedures that provide a large pool of qualified applicants, paired with a
