Teagan was the third passenger in a black SUV when suddenly her two best friends were shot in the front seats. Of course, Tegan became the eyewitness; investigators, family of the victims and fellow classmates wanted to know the who and why of the murder of Clark Carson and Martin Genovese. However, Teagan claims she did not see anything because it happened so suddenly and quickly. She is desperate to prove her innocence and get rid of her guilty conscious that she forms a plan. The bizarre plan went into action and the results were truly shocking and breathtaking. I felt that the story was weak in the area of excitement and the writing style. The story dragged one topic for too long. I understand that the murder was the main topic, but I felt like it was just one event being dragged on forever. The author could've told a little more background over other characters. This made the main character sound very repetitive to the point where the dialogue is predictable. Also, the writing style used was sort of confusing. In each chapter, I forgot who was telling the story; Kelly or Teagan. I would've preferred that the story be told by one person only; preferable an omniscient. …show more content…
I felt like she is struggling with PTSD. Based on my psychology class, the nightmares, constantly replaying the events, and hearing the gunshots over and over are early signs of PTSD. Teagan needs to talk about this to someone that isn’t constantly telling her that she lying or holding information back. I feel like if she saw a psychologist, she would of remembered some key points leading up to the murder a little more easily. For me, her not seeing someone is absolutely disturbing. Someone's mental health is a crucial for a healthy lifestyle, let's keep in mind that Teagan is only a teen with millions aspirations waiting to be
It has its faults, but overall it was a book I would recommend to tell the story of this horrific forest fire. I was not satisfied with the character in the account; they did not have enough character background to make the reader really feel for them. The characters did not connect to the reader on an emotional level I believe. For example Roosevelt and Taft are extremely narrowed mined and bland to me. He Force themes on to the reader much to frequently as well.
I was a little hesitant to try this one for two reasons, even though I loved the sound of it. One, Young Adult Mystery stories are very hit or miss with me. I don 't like it when I know who the bad guy is before the main character does; it takes all the fun out of it in my opinion. Two, I hate it when synopsis are written in the first person.
There wasn't much to dislike about this story. I did however find that I didn't like how some topics were left unexplored and unexplained. If I
Even though it was such a short book, it seemed complete. There weren’t gaps in the story like I’ve seen countless times in other short books. Nothing seemed to be missing, and there was a full
For example. The murder was very horrible and the way it took place was very unnecessary. The murder weapon was a hatchet. The parents took a heck of a beating in my opinion. Also the mom Abby took 40 hits and the dad Andrew took 41 hits.
This review didn’t showcase any of the negative and weak points in the story. This makes the review seem very biased and unbelievable. Every book has at least one downfall and by not including a counterargument in their review gives off the impression that they may have been paid to put this book in a good light. I wouldn’t buy the book based off of this review
Although, some parts kept me insanely hooked, most of the novel was very plain. First off, the whole plot was very basic; practically a rip-off version of The Bachelor but set in a castle. The main idea of the novel had been done many times, and in this novel the execution was not professional either, so it was not an enjoyable read. Second, the world building was not there at all. I could never truly visualize their country and surroundings, as Cass never went in-depth and incorporated any details.
The part got interesting where Peter had confessed he killed Hattie Hoffman, but was it really him? Was he trying to protect someone? A few months later, it was found out that Peter wasn't the killer and had confessed to a crime he didn't commit. Overall, I’d give this book a 10/10 for having remarkable plot
Although this book has many bad qualities, the development of the plot, and the characters is above average. The plot starts off with Cameryn finding a dead dog, which was killed by Kyle O'Neil, the same guy who kills Cammie’s teacher, Brad Oakes. The plot shows Cammie and Kyle falling in love, but really Kyle is just using her so he won’t get caught for killing Brad Oakes. The development of Kyle O’Neil’s character was fairly decent because we see him go from a scared boy who just watched
the second half of the story the plot digresses from that and becomes more about trying to bust the coach for his wrong doings. It left me scratching my head as to why, when, where and how something happened far too often. Although the plot is a bit convoluted at times it is fairly good as a whole. I feel this book has a fairly sub-par plot and supporting characters but the great protagonist is what is keeping this book afloat. Without him this book would not have been a below average book
Again, the strength of this novel is the description of both place and character. I feel like I know this character, and many of the ones in the book, I am just not sure I like the characters. I don’t really like the story itself, except for the part about the cow, and how karma can play a role when we least expect it. I would have just preferred something a little less pedophiliac and a little more woman power. This was not that book, and that’s fine; the writing is such as I can see why others would enjoy it.
The author failed with the plot. I felt like it was all over the place. It was little stories in one big story of Calpurnia’s life. This is what I would have changed. I would put more of a storyline in it and I would have made it a more interesting
The pacing is well done so that the show does not feel rushed at all. The pacing is relatively good, but is more on the slower side that may discourage newer viewers. Overall, the story has good pacing, and is relatively interesting to keep the viewer interested. The romance could have been better, but it was enjoyable to watch unfold.
"The book is in my opinion really great, the story is brilliant, my favorite character is Sam Spade, and it is particularly interesting love scene which interferes in this thriller. Also what keeps the attention and the conversation between the characters and thus seemed to us indicates that we ourselves detectives. The story is full of plot, full of unexpected events that will amaze you, the reader will not even blink. I have felt so as I read, in the end I was sorry when I got to the end and when I discovered the mystery.
I disliked your book a lot. The plot was boring; it was more of a drama book rather than crime. The characters were stupid, there actions were stupid. the only thing I liked about your book was that Jane proved that women are as good as men when it comes to solving murder cases. I also liked Jane's personality, she is an aspiring women and I hope in the future to be more like her.
