Team killers and serial solo killers have many differences. The major difference that I can see is how they each go about “capturing their prey”. Team killers consist of a dominant figure and a submissive figure. With team killers, the dominant figure is the leader of the pact, the dominant figure is also the one who does the killing. The submissive figure is the person who lures the victim. A lot of the time the submissive figure comes from a good childhood, while the dominant figure comes from a troubled childhood filled with trauma. This separates team killers from solo serial killers because solo serial killers do not have someone of good nature to lure their victim so they must lure their own victim and then kill their own victim. Sometimes the solo serial killer has the charm of the submissive figure and the drive of the dominant figure so they’re able to do both lure their victim and then kill them. However, sometimes the solo serial killer does not have the charm of the submissive figure so to fulfill their need to kill they must trap their victim by catching them off guard. Team killers and solo serial killers both hunt their victims. While hunting their victim, they have a specific agenda in mind meaning their killings are never random. After going through the readings, I have concluded that the dominant figure has more in common with solo serial killers than the submissive figure. Both the dominant figure and a solo serial killer come from troubled backgrounds usually resulting from childhood trauma. They also both get sexually satisfied from their methods of killing.
