Technology is something that improves every day, every hour and most possibly every minute. When technological improvements come by some person, who used to the work that this improvement is going to do, is going to lose his or her job. This has been happening since the industrial revolution occurred. The work that was done by humans was handed on to machines. And because of this many people have lost their jobs in several sectors.
If labor markets are flexible, then technological change will not cause unemployment. However, if there are labor market inflexibilities, then it can cause unemployment – at least, for a certain time period.
For example, due to technological change, coal miners may lose their jobs. However, due to occupational and geographical immobility, they may be unable to take new jobs in the service sector. (Pettinger, 2013)
That was just one sector and there are many more sectors affected by involvement in computer systems.
Some sectors effected are:
1. Industrials: Since the industrial revolution began manual workers started losing their jobs. Manual workers are people who use physical human force to get the work done. Manual workers can mostly be found in the industrial field such as in production factories. When the industrial revolution began machines replaced manual workers since …show more content…

After the introduction of machines most of the manual workers were unemployed. The best example is the garments industry. Nowadays garments are being produced in factories that employ the service of mostly machines and a few human workers to inspect and operate these machines. They use machines mostly because it consumes less time and can produce a large amount of output in a very good quality, not only that it makes very less production faults and thus reduces wastage of raw materials. And thus industries cling on to technology rather than labor
