There are many examples in the book like the mechanical hound and medical machinery. Medical technology is so advanced compared to today's society. An example is that a "machine pumped all of the blood from the body and replaced it with fresh blood and serum"(Bradbury 6). Today's society cannot even do that, people can only take out some blood or put in new blood of the same type. Doing that, would be extremely useful by saving peoples' lives from infections. In real life, technology helps with transportation and communication. Examples of technology that helped transportation are "(1) road transport used by automobiles ,(2) air transport which is used by airplanes , (3)water transportation which is used by ships and speed boats and (4) space transportation used to go to the moon"(Use). Without technology, no one would not be able to travel far, not even across an ocean. For communication, "Electronic medias like radios, televisions, internet , social medias have improved the way we exchange ideas which can develop our societies"(Use). For us to communicate without technology, we would actually have to go to that person and talk to him/her. In Fahrenheit 451, the mechanical hound is used for making sure everyone is obeying the laws and it is a weapon as "it has a trajectory we decide for it. It follows through. It targets itself, homes itself, and cuts off. It's only copper wire, storage batteries, and electricity"(Bradbury 24). Even though it is complex, the materials in it are so simple. That is how advanced they are that today, we cannot even do that. They use it for society to make sure no one is doing wrong and it targets anyone you need to, which is really useful for capturing bad people that breaks the laws. Technology is being used a great deal everywhere, everyday and it is more advanced as time
Fahrenheit 451 had a few types of technology. The 1950’s was the birth of many new types of technology. From the credit card in 1950, to the first machine in 1959, they were all new to the public. In today’s society there are so many types of technology, from smartphones to paying with just the face. Fahrenheit had the mechanical hound, TV’s.
There are a number of subjects that are shown in the book Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury but the main subject that he uses to get his point across is how technology can be distracting. Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury addresses the subject of Technology, suggesting that some forms of technology can be very distracting. Have you ever questioned how much technology can affect you? Technology can affect many factors of your daily life because, when people tend to use technology it’s like they’re trapped in their world and distracted from life. Throughout the book, Bradbury shows how technology impacts the characters in his dystopian novel. Mildred, who is Montag’s wife, uses technology so much it has changed her mindset completely.

Technology is a substance used to advance our daily life. It’s impacted our society in many ways because of the technological advancements it provides. Throughout time it has grown to be a very controversial topic because a variety of people believe it’s vigorous and others don’t. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is a story based on the life of a person in the future, who lives in a dystopian community where everyone is the same. Along with this, a short story named "The Veldt" by Ray Bradbury also contains a family in a dystopian community where technology was expected to easen and advance their lives.
Bradbury says, “ It stood near the smoking ruins of Montag’s house and the men brought his discarded flame thrower to it and put it down under the muzzle of the House. There was a whirring, clicking, humming” (129). The hound is mechanical it is not a real life breathing dog it is a robot basically. We have real dogs here but, in the future this could happen. In this world they have TV’s for walls and robot dogs the technology is insanely
Introduction In “Fahrenheit 451”, published in 1953, Ray Bradbury describes a lot of technologies predicted that did not exist at the time the book was written. These technologies were all come from Bradbury’s imagination. However, in the 21st century, some of them eventually do exist today, achieving Bradbury’s prescient predictions. In this paper, examples of technologies predicted mentioned in the novel will be identified and compared with the existing technology now.
Fahrenheit 451 takes place in a dystopia where the use of technology has completely displaced the use of books and all things traditional. A group of government employed citizens, known as the Firemen, are tasked with burning the banned books, and keeping their ideas from being known to the public. As a result, everywhere there’s a human being, some form of technology is seen as well, whether it be advanced auto-mobiles, headphones, or television screens the size of an entire wall. Most people’s lives revolve entirely around technology, something Bradbury openly criticizes. Because of this, most people have become ignorant and bland, with each person no different than the last.
They had given up on doing those tasks themselves and the intentions behind the mechanical hound surely were not pure. Although the original hopes created at the beginnings of the creature may have been, it had been tainted by the desires and designated ideals and “needs” of the city. The mechanical hound was portrayed as something perilous and hostile, especially to Montag. Taking advantage of how the device was programmed, the firemen would “be betting to see which the Hound seized first” (22) of a selection of rats, cats, and chicken as if it were some euphoric joke. They depend on and find merriment in the violence that the Hound brings.
The Mechanical Hound represents all the things the government created and how the people are unphased by it. I feel like this is because technology is such a large part of their life that they can’t see the unpleasant results. In the book, Mildred and her friends were watching tv and Montag unplugged it and the women were speechless, “The perspiration gathered with the silence and the subaudible trembling around and about and in the women who were burning with tension.” (92) Mildred and her friends could not deal with talking about everyday things because they were so unattached from the world and were in their tv
Hounds are made to kill anyone that breaks the law. The government doesn 't care if violence is used, its part of life. “A four inch hollow steel needle plugged down from the proboscis of the Hound to inject massive jolts of morphine and procaine.” (Bradbury 22).
The Deadening of Human Interaction due to Technology We are currently in the 21st Century and it is clearly obvious that technology is here to stay. Technology, as we all know, is making huge advancements which can help society greatly. However, technology has caused humans to become isolated from society. The novel, Fahrenheit 451, written by Ray Bradbury, is written about a fictional society where, to the reader, is a dystopia.
The picture of developing technology could be found in any writing document as well as a novel. From the using of technology for life on 1823 Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein through the imaginary future in Brave New World by Aldous Huxley in 1932, literary works has explained the worst and best illustration of using technologies in our daily life. Specifically, one of the greatest author who talked about technology in his works is Ray Bradbury. Known for his specialized on technologies and scientific novel, such as Fahrenheit 451 (1953),
I bet that you never realized that the gadget you always have in your hand can turn for the worst. The technology you use in everyday life can often mislead or misinform you or even be used against you. In the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury technology was used to brainwash and misinform the people Technology in the Novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury proved technology can be used as a dangerous tool. The Hound had been programmed to track down Montag.
