“Achieving education’s goals in our times is shaped by the increasingly powerful technologies we have for communicating, collaborating, and learning” (Trilling and Fadel 2009, p.16). Taking our students along this pedagogical paradigm shift, practitioners need to use the technologies available today to educate children and help them become critical thinkers and problem solvers so that they acquire skills to be successful in the 21st century. 21st century skills are now recognised as necessary because of increasing demand for a broader skills set due to increasing global competition, and the search for new ways to increase productivity. From the perspective as a class teacher, Initially I will examine what an international school is and the reasons for the increase in international schooling. Secondly, I will analyse 21st century learning outcomes, with a particular focus on their influence on international education. This will be followed by an overview of digital technologies and finally conclude with how digital technologies can be used to implement 21st century learning outcomes. I explored specific recommendations from course readings and tutors, following up references of interest, ensuring that both theoretical and empirical studies were analysed.
