Technology came about the moment mankind figured out how to incorporate knowledge into machines so that machines figured out actions on behalf of man, leaving man with no absolute need to understand the theory of how the machine works.
The advent of technology is of course welcomed with open arms since it makes life so much easier to cope with. Alas like a double edged sword it bode farewell to a number of human abilities and let creep in some stubborn negative qualities such as laziness. Granted that technology has been very useful in expanding human creativity yet at the same time numbing genuine creativity.

Letter writing is completely non-existent today; making way to brief sentences or short dialogues via social media platforms. Skills of writing creatively with beautifully arranged prose and artistic writing skills are of a bygone era. When I look at letters saved by my parents during their youth I long for the era when communication was truly an art form. Salutations such as “May lady luck hasten to your side and perch on your shoulder throughout your exams” are now replaced with a thumbs up emoji. My ability to communicate verbally has hugely diminished. I do find myself tongue tied in public which could possibly be a flaw in my character but at times I do suspect that technology is equally to blame. When it comes to e-mails as well social chats I have to keep my sentences short and straight to the point to maintain the reader’s attention. There is a loss of creativity in the use of language but I would say there is creativity in creating short forms such as LOL (laugh out loud), L8 (late), B4 (before) much to the chagrin of my English
