Jeffrey Dahmer was a notorious sex offender and a serial killer. He killed 17 men in the following dates of 1978-1991, Jeffery has been sentenced up to 15 consecutive times. Jeffrey Dahmer had loving, caring parents. Lionel and Joyce. Jeffery was a happy child he had a normal childhood up to the age of six where he had to have surgery because of a double hernia which affected Jeffrey. The results of the surgery had affected him negatively, he became more of an insular and lacking in self-confidence. Both of them grew up with loving, caring parents, and lacked confidence, they were not very sociable, and bullied during school. They were also alcoholics; Dahmer alcoholism spun out of control right after his first victim, he would often offer alcohol to his victims and then drug them. They both dropped out of school; Dahmer because of his drinking problem and Ted because after his “devastating” breakup didn’t hold interest in anything and decided to drop out. They each had their own ways on how they would kill their victims, Dahmer would drug his victims, then have sexual intercourse with them, He killed them because he believes that in killing them he would stop being attracted to men.
