Serial killers are “people who have murdered three or more people over a month period with a down time between each death.” Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer were both notorious serial killers, Jeffrey Dahmer had a worse childhood, which could have led to the life he choose to live in, Whereas Ted Bundy’s sneaky and articulate ways made it more difficult to capture him. Serial killers are influenced more by their heredity, the culture they're surrounded by, mentality and personal background, which causes them to act out in abnormal ways. Jeffrey Dahmer was a notorious sex offender and a serial killer. He killed 17 men in the following dates of 1978-1991, Jeffery has been sentenced up to 15 consecutive times. Jeffrey Dahmer had loving, caring parents. Lionel and Joyce. Jeffery was a happy child he had a normal childhood up to the age of six where he had to have surgery because of a double hernia which affected Jeffrey. The results of the surgery had affected him negatively, he became more of an insular and lacking in self-confidence. Jeffrey Dahmer’s father found a career opportunity and it resulted that he had to move away from them and so that increased the boy's self-confidence and his insecurities deepened. By the early teenage years he was disengaged, tense and very friendless. Both raped and killed numerous amount of people. They also kept the remains and dismembered their victims, and served time in jail. Both of them grew up with loving, caring parents, and lacked confidence, they were not very sociable, and bullied during school. They were also alcoholics; Dahmer alcoholism spun out of control right after his first victim, he would often offer alcohol to his victims and then drug them. While Ted’s victims that survived testified that they smelled alcohol on his breath. They both dropped out of school; Dahmer because of his drinking problem and Ted because after his “devastating” breakup didn’t hold interest in anything and decided to drop out. They are different, however because Ted only killed woman, whereas Jeffrey killed only men. They each had their own ways on how they would kill their victims, Dahmer would drug his victims, then have sexual intercourse with them, He killed them because he believes that in killing them he would stop being attracted to men. Ted would kill them to fulfill his sexual desires, even though there was suspicion that it was because of his college girlfriend; since most of his victims resembled her. They were also different because Ted would bite his victims and Jeffrey would cut and save the body parts, for him to devour later on.
