The writer’s thesis is effective because parents should decide the decisions for their children when they are young for one reason; so that they don’t look back at their past and regret not doing something they think they should have done. When you are young, you have trouble making the right decisions that will possibly benefit you in the future. The author has used experience to support her thesis (balance) considering that she is a parent of 2 sons, that is making decisions for them as she states in the essay that “Opinions in the long run, are what lessons are for” interpreting that lessons make you learn from your mistakes resulting in making better choices in the future. The author has the credentials and background that enables her to discuss the thesis with some authority for the reason that she is an essayist, columnist, author, and teacher. A few reviews and feature stories she has written have appeared in numerous newspaper such as the very famous ones; The New York Times, and Washington Post.
Maybe I tried just hard enough to change the status quo of how people viewed us. If you know someone that does fit some of the stereotypes above, that does not define them as a person. When people kept talking about how being homeschooled would probably suck, and they were right. Sometimes it was terrible, but not because you do not have friends or have 50 siblings and your parents are crazy for Jesus. It was because you do not feel like you fit in and that is what teenagers desire most.
A student might have to drop out and get a job to provide for younger siblings or a parent. This would be an understandable reason to not continue college, but is very specific to certain people or families. Another personal case of why an individual would drop out is college is it is just not the right fit for their life. College does teach valuable life skills and provides an advanced education for those who need it, yet some professions do not require a degree. If a student is not getting valuable instruction for what they want to do, it would be the smart thing to back out and peruse an apprenticeship for example.
We stick with people who support our social identity and withdraw from those who don't. We may even switch friends when the original ones don't support our current view of ourselves”. Parents or siblings cannot often give support of this social identity, especially in the teenage years. Teenagers look for an outlet in their friends. They claim that the parents ‘don’t get it’ when it comes to social issues.
In life, parents can’t always make decisions for us as we grow older like who their child marries because it’s all about finding “the one” that a child chooses and not the parents or guardian. If a child is forced to think for themselves on who they want to marry, it will help them think about religious ideas, political views, what they want in a personality, and if they want children or not. In Romeo and Juliet, Juliet thought for herself on if she wanted to marry Romeo or not when they fell in love at the orchard. A child being forced to think for themselves is a better idea than parents choosing who you spend the rest of your life
I was not grown up in Canada but still had a similar situation as yours. In my culture dating is not a way of life and is illegal. I had a stressful time when I was meeting my husband before marriage, we preferred to meet each other at my friend 's house, and we were worried if our parents find out. I think dating has a purpose so boys and girls can assess and consider each other as a spouse. They should know in advance about their strengths and weaknesses before getting married and find out if they are compatible enough for
In the article it says parents of athletes would have to adjust to students arriving later in the evening.” but I can’t go any later. Another reason is you may think that kids should have better sleep because it helps them concentrate on their work more than falling asleep. Well then they should not stay up on their devices all night and go to sleep when their parents tell them. Some of this responsibility are the parents to, because they're the ones that have to take away those devices if your child is in first grade. when they're supposed to.
Some may stop and realize that they do not have anywhere to go or anything to do. Once these mothers figure out their future, they may pick up a hobby so they have something to turn to for their free time. No mother should be told that they can not have a social life, because they need time to relax and if they do not get that time to themselves, it can really affect their mental
My plan is to take this year as serious as possible and learn from my previous two years in high school. I know i'm going to have a lot of distractions but I know ill be able to work through them and make this school year as successful as possible. I’m trying to change my bad habits and have things done before I move on to anything else because I don’t want to end up going to another school to recover my credits. That's the last thing I wanna do because I don’t want to be away from this high school I Started here and I want to graduate from
Waiting to go to college is a responsible choice that is often discouraged. That is because parents who haven’t been to college do not know what the deal is. They don’t know that students have got to want to go to college to be able to succeed. Another reason why is because most students don’t know what they want to be or do in college. Also, numerous parents know how it feels not to complete college, so they encourage or almost force their students to go to college soon after high school.
I would rather go to school because then you would be able to have a family and not worry about getting kicked out of an apartment complex because you can not pay your rent and in college my Mom and Dad met so you might meet that special someone lol. Finally, you should side with Dr. Huxtable because he has more experience and knows more about how you should use and what you should and should not spend it on than Theo. Those are all of the examples and reasonings why you should side with Dr. Huxtable and not Theo also why you should do good during high school so if your mind changes, and you do want to go to college and get further
