Some of the more common reasons seem to come from pressures in high school, problems with parents, problems with relationships, and increasingly drug or alcohol related problems. Suicide has become one of the leading causes of death for young people around the world. Young people are more vulnerable than adults to thoughts of suicide. The increasing

McCormick (2011) states patients have the fundamental right to make decisions about their own medical care, including the decision to withhold or withdraw treatment and right to die. The patient may have had the opportunity to prepare advance care directives which is the advance expression of wishes by a person, at a time when they have the capacity to express their wishes, about certain treatment that might arise at a future time
Suicide and Self-harm is one of the main leading causes in youth deaths in today 's society. The thought of ending his or her life is one of the thoughts developing in teenagers’ minds around the globe. There are many reasons to why a person will put their life at risk, such as stress, depression, loss of a loved one, or being bullied. Constant use of drugs or alcohol is also another leading cause to a person to have suicidal thoughts/actions. Suicide is not the way to go, there are plenty of other options to overcome suicidal thoughts or actions.
Teenage suicide, in other words, youth suicide has not been a new issue in modern life nowadays. This matter has become a tragedy over the world, a burden for both governments and families. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), suicide is the third-leading cause of death for 15-24 years old, after accidents and homicide. The statistics of CDC estimates that at least 25 attempts are made for every completed teen suicide. From the number of deaths and the serious of consequences, not only authorities but also parents, siblings and friends take actions to prevent and help young people.
Once someone starts using drugs they will be addicted which can lead to future health problems and it will increase the rate of impaired driving. Firstly, youth are more at risk of using drugs. Teens are more vulnerable to try drugs thinking it is cool or maybe something that makes them feel good. Teens brains are often in the developing stage and they can do anything for self-pleasure.
Why the drinking age should be lowered in the US The drinking age in the U.S should be lowered because there are many problems that have happened and are still happening in the United States. For example some of these problems are teen pregnancy, car accidents and underage drinking. These Scenarios are happening everywhere around the United States.
This is why in order to reduce the number of alcohol related accidents, America must start mass campaigning against drinking and driving, install ignition locks, and lower the drinking age down to 18. Mass campaigning against drinking and driving proves efficient in lower the number of alcohol accidents. Campaigning against alcohol will allow the people to see the physical danger drunk driving can do. For example, studies shows “the median decrease in alcohol-related crashes resulting from the campaigns was 13%”
The second hypothesis to be analysed is the theory that divorced people tend to commit suicide more often compared to married people, and married people commit suicide less than single people. The suicides of divorcees can be illustrated by this quote from the book “Suicide”: “The state of conjugal anomy, produced by the institution of divorce, thus explains the parallel development of divorces and suicides. Accordingly, the suicides of husbands which increase the number of voluntary deaths in countries where there are many divorces, form a division of anomic suicide.” (273)
Measurements demonstrate that drug abuse is a developing issue among teenagers. Drugs should be forbidden all over the world because for teenagers it destroys their social life. On the other hand, many teenagers believe that it should remain because it helps them to cover from painful memories in their past. Despite the many causes and effects of drug abuse, two of the main causes are Lack of parent to child communication and low self-esteem and two of the main effects are Health problems and Behavioral problems.
Some may say yes, some might say no, some may even diverge from answering the question by changing the topic. I strongly believe that teenage suicide is on the rise. Due to the increase in bullying, increase in drugs and alcohol, as well as the impossible standards projected on others by social media. Teenage suicide is a rising problem that must be stopped. To begin, the most known reason for teenage suicide is bullying.
Depression and other similar disorders lead to one attempting to commit or committing suicide. There are several warning flags for suicide, such as self-harm and suicidal ideation. In the LGBT community, it is believed that the increased stress is resulting from external and internalized homophobia and transphobia resulting in these self-destructive behaviors being so much more prevalent in the younger community than they are in the heterosexual cisgender community (McDermott p.815). Gay and bisexual men are four times more likely to ideate and attempt suicide than their heterosexual peers; lesbian and bisexual women are twice as likely (Mereish p.1). Transgender individuals are at an even higher risk, as half of the transgender participants reported suicidal ideation, and a quarter of them had reported attempting suicide (Johnson p.56).
Cyberbullying victims are 2 to 9 times more likely to consider committing suicide. Cyberbullying victims have a lower self-esteem than people who are bullied physically. Cyberbullying can occur through a wide variety of different mediums, like phones are used so much by teens, 80% of teens use phones these days, making it one of the most popular forms of communication, which makes it a lot easier for people to be cyberbullied.”(http://nobullying.com/”). Covert or hidden bullying is kind of harder to recognize and can be carried out behind a person’s back.
America decided to do things differently than other countries for a reason. Lowering the age for drinking would lead to a disaster. The law needs to remain at an age of 21 to keep the next generation safe as long as possible. Drinking is extremely harmful and potentially fatal, this is coupled with its addictability, add young adults and the consequences are terrible. Many people follow the law and other countries experience more issues with underage drinking than the US.
Through an analysis of data, on why teens commit suicide, it has been shown that those teens were uneducated on how to cope with their problems and their own self worth in the world. Suicide comes from many factors. It comes from a whirlwind of negative things happening, piling up on oneself, then soon falling over on the person causing them to become emotionally drained down to the core. At this point the only way of responding to end their pain is by committing suicide.
