Studies show that 72% of teenagers have either extracurricular activities, or work in the evenings after school. Teenagers enrolled in such activities are usually out later than teenagers who are not. Some people believe it would be a good idea to apply a 10 pm weekday curfew and a midnight weekend curfew for teenagers in order to keep them out of trouble, while others believe that would unfairly intervene in young people's lives. A 10 and 12 o'clock curfew would not be a good idea to place on teens, for it would disrupt their evening activities. One reason a curfew would be a bad idea is because not all teenagers are up to no good.
The Greasers did not have a curfew. On the other hand, not having a curfew could lead into drugs, and gangs. The Greasers did not have a curfew, and they attend drugs and having gand fights. When teens don’t accept a curfew, they will stay out as behindhand as possible, which leads to breaking the laws with friends. The article states that “Cities and towns should have curfews.A curfew allows less time to get in trouble with gangs, alcohol, and things like that.” Having a curfew leads to not dealing with illegal things. When a teen does not have a curfew, it leads to frequently seeing cops.
No parent wants to deal with their child or children going out to their friend’s party until 2 am in the morning much less allowing them to roam in the dangerous alleys and roads during the middle of the night. There must be restrictions which include maintaining curfews for teenagers from parents, local areas, and major cities. Curfews are set in place because most teenagers have yet to prove they are more responsible than parents. Teenagers without curfews are most likely deprived from focusing during the school day. Furthermore, curfews are set in place for the safety of children in cities, courts, and even the neighborhood.
“Homeless” written by Anna Quindlen, is about how people choose to be homeless instead of going to shelters and finding homes to live in. People wonder why those who don’t have homes would rather sleep sitting up on benches or huddled in door ways instead of going to shelters. Some do because they are emotionally ill, because "they have been locked in before and they are damned if they will be locked in again." Some are afraid of the violence and trouble they may find there. But some of them want things that are not available to them in shelters and they don’t want to compromise, not even for food or a shower.
Being homeless and stressing during their street life can also lead them towards use of drugs such as marijuana or something to soothe their level of stress. Once a child goes through a harsh social condition of homelessness they are often seldom directed to service providers wanting to continue to live on their own instead of transitional houses or homeless shelters (Kimberly Bender, 380). One argument is to enforce the focus of youth dealing with homelessness, but from a youth’s perspective living in a strict homeless shelter seem to cause or make depression their worse (Andrea Krusi, 284). Homeless youth face several challenges including the lack of social support needed from a shelter, the life within a youth centered shelter,
Why should teenagers under the age of eighteen be allowed outside after eleven at night without parental observation? Although teenagers think they don’t need to have a curfew their parent think they should because some teenagers are having problems sleeping at night. For example they don’t sleep they just rather be on their phone or be playing their video games or just be social media. There should also put curfews on teenagers because sometimes they could also be out at night and it’s dangerous for a teenager to be out at night something could happen to them or they could do something bad like for example someone could be selling drugs at night out in the streets and what if they start to offer them some or what if they could get followed
Some teenagers sneak and drink at parties and other places without their parents even knowing. Some parents know their children are going to drink so they allow them to drink at home, with a hope that it will prevent them from going out doing senseless things. Underage drinking is very risky and can lead to variety of unoftunate and even tragic circumstances such as car accidents, violent behavior, alcohol poisoning, and other dangerous things. Most parents
Manufacturing Teen Curfews Mandatory curfews have been instituted throughout the country as a means to help teenagers. Too many teenagers get themselves involved in criminal or deadly behavior. Curfews have been proven to help those young people with decreasing their fun time and increasing their work times. There are those, teenagers in particular, who believe that curfews violate their rights to freedom. Some people also say that curfews don't help at all.
Many might try and argue that if they suspend a student, it will be a big impact in their life but most kids still think of it as a small party out of school where you don’t have to do your work and get poor grades and no one would care. Therefore having different ways to punish the students to make them care would be better for our
Her mother tried many things to get her off the streets, because being on the streets had nothing good for her. Many kids now seem to be out of the house more often, and parents do not realize what they might be going through and experiencing. There are many kids that find many ways to feel free and get their minds off the trouble that their home life may be giving
