O’Donnell contends that the constant need for attention that teenagers crave coupled with their impulsive behavior produces disastrous results. Facts and Summary On January 24, 2014, in Oxted, Surrey, police found the body of 17 year old Elizabeth Rose Thomas. She had been stabbed in the neck and back by her 16 year old boyfriend (who is now 17), Steven Miles. He also dismembered her legs and one of her arms with “saws and tools from his father’s tree surgeon business ”(Duell, 2014). He wrapped the body parts in cling film, placed them in bin bags and covered the rest of “her body in a green plastic garden sheet” (Duell, 2014).
Age plays a significant role on decision-making not only in Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet but also in modern times. In the play, Romeo and Juliet are only young teenagers which influences on making childish and no-thought decisions. This is shown In Act 2 where Romeo is depressed because Rosaline, who he had confessed his love to has rejected him, and refuses to crash the Capulet’s party. Bianca is being bullied by the it girl named Madison. Madison is rude to Bianca and calls her the duff. The duff means designated ugly fat friend.

Even with our own personal experience and observations, most teens today represent the typical hipster. During middle school, girls were savagely pursuing any attention they could receive from the most popular boys in school. When I stated savagely pursuing that is not an understatement. Middle school girls were vicious when it came to getting the boy they wanted.

Everyone goes through different problems in life. However, the most common problem teenagers encounter today is when their parents go through a divorce. One major reason why marriages do not survive is because couples would rather get a divorce instead of fighting for their relationship; which adds chaos throughout the whole process. Another reason why couples divorce is because they do not think about what they are doing to their families. Although many families are affected by a divorce, people never think about teenagers.
