September, 11th 2001 4 planes are hijacked and crashed into the 2 World Trade Centers, the Pentagon, and a field in Philadelphia. 2,997 dead and over 6,000 people injured are the result of the horrific terror attack called 9/11. This is the biggest terror attack in U.S. history and has been for the past 15 years.
On September 11,2001 it was just an average day for many going to work or flying home to see family. Until… word got out that a plane crashed into the twin towers of the world trade center. It was caused by members of a terror group called Al- Qaeda. The attacks were not accidental they were intentional. Both towers collapsed killing 3,000 people. Another plane crashed into the pentagon, another crashed into a rural field in pennsylvania. The president at the time responded by declaring a “ War on terror”. After the 9/11 attacks the United States began to get paranoid about terrorist. We didn't want what happened in 9/11 to happen again. So the U.S. responded by securing border patrol, having more security at airports and public spaces.
9/11 was the largest terrorist attack in modern history. With 2,993 deaths and over 8,500 injuries, the United States would never be the same. From all of the firefighters that risked their lives and many losing their lives, to all of the unknown heroes that were in the building when it collapsed, the same thing was going through everybody's mind, to get back to their families. Race did not matter, gender did not matter, sexuality did not matter. No matter who the person was next to you, the goal was to help them out of the building alive. Many of the lucky survivors lived to tell the tale of everyone else’s acts of heroism. 9/11 was one of the best displays of citizenship in history. Even though the United states has fought wars against terror before, none of them had taken place in their own country. Two planes crashed into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York causing the towers to collapse, killing thousands in the process. It had a significant impact on the way the generation Y thought and the aftereffects of the event shaped the ideology of that generation. It exposed the vulnerability of the nation to everybody.
The 911 Conspiracy On the morning of September 9th, 2000, a shocking event, which would be remembered by the world, even 15 years later, occurred. 4 passenger airlines ----specifically, American Airlines Flight 11, United Airlines Flight 175, American Airlines Flight 77 and United Airlines Flight 93---- were hijacked by Al-Qaeda terrorists, and were respectively flown into the North and South towers of the World Trade Center, and the Pentagon in a suicide attack. Fortunately, Flight 93 which was initially planned to crash into Washington, D.C., was overtaken in a brave move by the passengers, and was crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. This is the event which struck the Firefighting and Law Enforcement agencies, with the former receiving 343 casualties, and the latter receiving 72.

Document Based Assignment 2 On September 11, 2001 terrorists attacked our country causing one of the most devastating events in United States history. Islamic extremists seized control of four airplanes, crashing two of them into the Twin Towers, one into the Pentagon, and the last in Pennsylvania. In In order to kill America’s pride, wealth and power, four hijacked planes, with a total of 246 passengers, were turned into bombs and flown into American symbols. Three planes crashed into the World Trade towers in New York City and the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. The fourth plane was supposedly on track to attack the White House, but, crashed in a Pennsylvania field. A New York rescue worker exclaimed that, “We 're going to look on this as the day everything changed… It just feels like nothing’s ever going to be the same” as a result of the thousands of passengers on the airplanes, policemen, firefighters, emergency workers and regular civilians who died that day without doing anything wrong (Stewart 10).
The September 11 attack on the Twin Towers ; 9/11 was one of the most devastating incidents that ever happened in modern history. This attack killed 2,996 people and injured almost 6000 others. The 9/11 memorial has only been open for five year so it is surprising that it is so popular. Over 300,000 people have already visited the 9/11 memorial. It’s making a lots of money because the cheapest tickets are $24 and the cheapest tour is $39, and that is per person. Also on the webpage you are able to donate. The reason it is so expensive is because they need to keep it open, and the rest of the money goes the the other buildings they are building. They have already finished one building it is the new world trade center. Thats amazing how many people have already been at the 9/11 memorial.
Everyone has a Story Can one imagine a world where people undergo such insanity, that they willingly go on suicide plane missions? Neither could the United States before September 11, 2001. The 9/11 terrorists attacks, lead by an Islamic group al-Qaeda, devastated the country. This group so heavily believed in their religion, that they wanted to create an independent Muslim State. The tragic event of 9/11 impacted everyone in the United States, whether or not they were present at the terrorists site of attack.
