Home of cowboy boots, roasted peanuts, country fried steak, and fried okra, Texas is one of the most exquisite states for vacationing. Texas is the largest of 50 states. According to www.50states.com, “More land is farmed in Texas than any other state.” This makes Texas the perfect state to vacation in for cowboys, cowgirls and everyone else who loves country living. Nevertheless, Texas is full of different cities. One city that grasps my attention is Dallas, Texas. Dallas Texas is a tourist attraction. It is the perfect getaway for a family who is looking for enjoyment and excitement. Dallas Texas is known for its different activities, restaurants and shopping places.

Little Rock Nine is known as an Epic event. An Epic event consists, of an outstanding hero, have Epic traits, the setting is vast, the actions are of great valor, have supernatural forces and determines the future of the people. Little Rock Nine were nine African Americans who opposed racial segregation in public schools by attending all white schools. The group consisted of Melba Pattillo, Ernest Green, Elizabeth Eckford, Minnijean Brown, Terrence Roberts, Carlotta Walls, Jefferson Thomas, Gloria Ray, and Thelma Mothershed. The students attended school on the second day of school, but the governor of Arkansas sent police to block the entrance of the school. The Texas Longhorn was a decedent from the Spanish cattle introduced about two-hundred years earlier. They adapted to the harsh climate, tough prairie grasses, and scarce food and water that some animals could not adapt to. These breed of cattle are known for their unique color, and their huge horns which can grow up to seven feet long. By 1865, about five million roamed the Texas grassland.

In today’s fast-paced world, there is nothing more valued than the time carved out for a relaxing vacation. Vacations are a much needed time to relax from the drudgery of everyday life and to spend time enjoying family. As a native Texan, I have vacationed in all the major cities of Texas and each city has its own distinct atmosphere and attributes. Dallas is as different from Houston as Houston is from Austin. While all of these cities are worth visiting, if time or money limits choices and only one can be chosen, then San Antonio is the place to visit. San Antonio is the best vacation destination in Texas because of the atmosphere, food, and fun activities.

The battle of Second Bull Run was fought August 28-30, 1862. The battle took place in prince William county Virginia (Manassas). John Pope was the major general for the Union side and later joined with George Brinton McClellan. The Major General on the confederate side was Robert E. Lee. There were 62,000 soldiers and 14,000 casualties for the Union and 50,000 soldiers and 8,000 casualties for the confederate. United States was able to annex Texas after the agreements with Mexico. But, the Texans were still upset and devastated about the Alamo. I think both sides did stick to their ruling but Texas/United States didn 't agree with the treaty that Santa Anna signed and declared. It all began after my first semester here at A&M. I was somewhat disappointed because I had hoped to meet lots of new people and make new friends but that wasn’t exactly the case. You hear how people make some of their truest and lifelong friends in college however, after my first semester I still didn’t have any friends here.
