Many people think texting while driving is cool and safe. Well it’s not! Texting and driving is the primary reason why many teens and adults get into seriously dangerous car accidents. Car collisions are the leading cause of teen death as well as adults. Individuals who drive while reading or sending text messages are 23% more likely to be involved to be in a car crash which happens within an average of three seconds after a driver is distracted. Texting while driving should be against the law in every state due to car accidents and teenage and adult death. Texting and driving is considered to be a form of reckless driving. With newer technology advancing, it is becoming highly dangerous for anyone to text and drive at the same time. Due to distracted driving, many people are getting injured because they’re texting and driving. It’s obvious cellphones are the main reason people get into car wrecks. If there were no cellphones around, the percent of car wrecks due to texting and driving wouldn’t be as high as it is now. …show more content…

What parents don’t realize is having a cellphone in the car may add an additional distraction which could endanger new drivers. It’s very important that teenagers don’t text and drive because not only are their lives in danger but other drivers are as well. Not only that, they're not experienced enough to drive and text. Although many think they are, they’re actually the ones who get into car collisions because of their ignorance. If parents continue to allow their teenagers to text and drive, there will be a lot more car collisions and innocent injured
