In both “Non-Stop” and “That Would Be Enough,” Lin-Manuel Miranda conveys success as an idea that can control the actions of people. He shows that it can make some people feel like the amount of success shows their self-worth and value. To get to the top, it does not come without problems; it can create strained relationships and differing views to arise within groups of people. These songs show that success can cause contention and is a motivational aspect for people, and that it is neither a wholly good or a wholly bad thing; along the way, it will mean going through both of these, possibly being problematic.
One way that success is shown is through the usage of phrases that show how some people take success as a motivational aspect, when

/ Look at where you started. / The fact that you’re alive is a miracle. / Just stay alive, that would be enough” (page 63, line 25-29, “That Would Be Enough”). The first two sentences begin similarly with “Look at where you started,” and the use of “you” shows it is referring to one person causing it to be more personal to the character. The first part of the final sentence is easily structured, and has a tone that is pleading to the person it is talking to. These lines are also repeated in “Non-Stop,” showing the importance of this idea. Together, this shows that success causes problems and disputes between relationships, and that it causes some to think success defines who they …show more content…
The rhyme between “wife” and “life” shows the connection between the two things it is referencing. Together, this shows how success can cause discontentment by thinking that success defines who someone is as a

The central idea of the story is to never let anything stand in your way of doing what you love. Amare Leggette is an 8 year old boy, who has been blind his whole life. He lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, and attends Charlotte’s Eastover Elementary school. To start off, Amare began his love for reading and education at a very young age (not letting his problem of being blind get in the way). He could talk in full sentences just at the age of three, and could name all the 50 states at age five!
In Okay for Now by Gary D. Schmidt, a boy named Doug moves to Marysville, a small town in New York. He needs to start fitting in. If someone’s new, it’s hard to fit in especially if you are rude. But, if you’re nice to them, they will help you fit in.
Writing Performance Task Unit 2 In the articles “What could be better than a touchdown,” and “Why we run,” it talks about the importance of mental strength and physical prowess. The question is, “Is mental strength and physical prowess equal? or Is one more important than the other?” Mental strength is more important than physical prowess.
A person shouldn’t measure their success based on what they own, but based on their accomplishments. Those who never truly succeed, take pride in what they own, rather than what they’ve done. Emily Dickinson wrote in Success is Counted Sweetest, “Success is counted sweetest, by those who never succeed.” In this poem Dickinson describes what success really is, and those why are proud of their success, never truly achieved it. Today, success doesn’t matter at all.

There are many interpretations of what torture is and how something can be classified as torture. In “Believe Me It’s Torture” Christopher Hitchens talks about the United States and its various uses of interrogation tactics to get Important information from suspected terrorists. In the article the author often brings up the waterboarding tactic that is often used and how there is a large controversy over whether it is in fact torture or if it is just simply harmless. Each and everyone has our own idea of how success looks like. But for me, success is something that you’ve worked so hard to get to that you now have pride to have or be. But success isn’t so easy to reach. There's going to be challenges and times where one thinks they won't succeed. Its when you’ve flourished to the point where you’re happy with the placement of your life.

The character, Jeevan Chaudhary and I define happiness in exceedingly similar ways because we prioritize similar things in our lives. Jeevan finds happiness with his family. Family can be the most important people in one’s life. After Jeevan’s time in Allan Gardens, he decides that “he wanted very much to tell Frank about the evening…” (16). His first instinct after having such a whirlwind of a night is to go to his brother and tell him about it; not to go home to his girlfriend, but to see his brother, his family.
The central theme of media manipulation and the consequences of that are explained and uncovered in Ryan Holiday’s book Trust Me I’m Lying: Confessions of a Media Manipulator. Holiday offers a brutally honest insight into the world of PR and journalism, one that many people can have trouble accepting and one that makes us doubt every form of media and advertisement around us and exposes the twisted relationship between online media and marketing. In the beginning of the book, Holiday admits that he is a liar, but asks the readers to believe everything he says. As mentioned in an article published by Poynter institute, “He has a point to make, but he 's like the addict warning of the dangers of drugs, all the while snorting a line and shaking his head at how bad it is” (Silverman, 2012).

One of the main techniques used in this poem was Juxtaposition, as this poem is a comparison between the two very different lives of two men, at first it seems that the wealthy man had it all and the man in poverty had nothing, but by the end of the poem it challenges it by showing what the end of their life had in store for them. In the beginning of the poem the millionaire felt blessed to have their own child as it is said in the beginning of the poem “The rich man said ‘my son shall be a Lordly ruler o’er land and sea’ “whereas the man in poverty took it as another mouth to feed and a part of God’s plan for him to have another child “Tis the Good Gods will that I have another mouth to fill” from these two quotes it seems that the wealthy have it better, but the man in poverty defies it. By the end of the rich man’s life, he has led an unpleasant life in this quote “He scoffed at woman, and doubted God, and died like a beast and went back to the sod.” The man in poverty however, being a working class man has fulfilled his life with the quote “The son of the labourer tilled the soil, and thanked God daily for health and toil. He wedded for love in his youthful prime”.
