Benefits of Taqwa
“And whoever fears Allah, He will forgive his sins and increase his reward”. (Surah Talaq, 65:05]
Taqwa meaning Fear of Almighty Allah is one of the distinct characteristics of a true believer. Holy Quran refers those who practices Taqwa as Al-Muttaqun. Almighty Allah says,
"O you who believe! Have Taqwa of Allah, as you should have of Him and do not die except as Muslims." (Surah Al-Imraan, 03:102).
The straightforward meaning of the Arabic word, Taqwa, is forbearance, fear and abstinence. In Islam, Taqwa has an even greater meaning. A person with Taqwa is said to have a superior state of heart which keeps the person aware of Allah 's presence and His Knowledge all the times and induces him or her to carry out honorable deeds and avoid the forbidden ones.
“And: 'Command your family to pray and be firm with it yourself. We are not asking any provisions of you. ln fact, We shall provide for you for the best ending is for those with taqwa”. (Surah Taha, 20: 132)
It is the same very quality which was highlighted by Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the Last Sermon as the only trait of superiority of a Muslim over another.
Taqwa has innumerable benefits. Almighty Allah Himself has cited them in the Noble Quran. Some of these benefits have been described below:
1. People possessing Taqwa are blessed with Divine guidance. Holy Quran declares “guidance for the muttaqin (the people of Taqwa)”. (Surah Al-Baqara, 02:02)
2. Taqwa brings a believer closer to Allah
