Knowledge is one of the most important things for mankind throughout the ages. The knowledge is power(Francis Bacon, 1597). Humanity has used information for good or bad purposes. Knowledge leads beautiful things in right hands but it can also turn into a weapon in bad hands. Because of this steganography has invented. Steganography is the practice of hiding private or sensitive information within something that appears to be nothing out of the usual(Aelphaeis Mangarae , 2006). History of steganography based on ancient antiquity. Steganography, coming from the Greek words (stegos) meaning roof or covered and (graphia) which means writing(Krenn, 2000). However, with the evolution of technology steganography has progressed too. For instance, …show more content…
Firstly history of steganography will be mentioned. Secondly, usage areas and technics of steganography will be clarified. Finally, advantages and disadvantages of steganography will be explained. In this chapter history of steganography will be mentioned. In history people needed to hide something from another person so it causes invention of steganography. In belief steganography technics used in a lot of areas in history. Pre-war preparations, wars, political and diplomatic conversations, intelligence activities, these may be usage areas of steganography. According to belief steganography first practiced during the Golden Age in Greece. An ancient Greek record describes the practice of melting wax off wax tablets used for writing messages and then inscribing a message in the underlying wood(Arvind Kumar & Pojaa , 2010). A different method in the past, messengers tattooed messages their shaved heads and let their hair grow in this way message become invisible after that someone can shave their heads and can see the message(Krenn, 2004). Steganography has developed according to requirements of ages. In the past, it applied with primitive methods on the
Another use was that of fingerprints which was first used by William
Some methods were ciphers, codes, and probably the most interesting, invisible ink. Anybody could spy, but there are some people that you didn’t know spied like Benjamin Franklin. There were others too, and some of them were even traitors. Secret letters consisted of spy codes, invisible ink, ciphers, hidden and masked letters. All of these methods were used so people couldn’t understand if a message was stolen, or confiscated.
This idea can be applied to the past advancements of technology, science, and medicine, which have helped humanity and can continue to. Knowledge, when used with precaution, can assist in the evolving of humanity. However, when knowledge is taken

With the introduction of new technology in recent years, the government can discreetly capture evidence from electronic files,

There it was, standing in the distance, a tall gloomy gray-colored building. With a few splashes of blue paint added to the dull cement to add color to what would otherwise be a lifeless building. This building was non-other than the one and only Stoller Middle School. I never referred to it as a middle school but more as a prison, it was full of rules that were put in place just to suck away any possible fun from a child’s mind. Maybe I didn’t like the place because I was suspended five times from it.
This replaces communication with others, because it provides modern convenience, superficial pleasure and censorship to any controversial concepts. The image Ray Bradbury displayesd of how technology can alienate human beings will remain in thought with technological advances taking place in the
Clay Shirky, the author of “Does the internet make you smarter?” wrote about how ignorance has poisoned the internet with incorrect information. Not only does technology has its flaws, but so do books and novels dating back to the Protestant Reformation. Even though many people are against the internet Shirky reassures that if used correctly and appropriately, then it can become a very useful tool that can “tap our cognitive surplus”. The increased collaboration of technology is important to society for the reason that the internet is full of valuable knowledge that can be claimed very quickly and easily. Increased collaboration is absolutely a benefit.
For hundreds of years philosophers have assigned knowledge the supreme role and have called knowledge the ultimate purpose and meaning of human life. Aristotle, the famous Greek philosopher said “theoretical wisdom, that is, knowledge of the first principles and of what follows from them, is by nature our purpose and is the ultimate thing for the sake of which we have come to be. This is the highest form of knowledge since it is knowledge with grounding of the highest things. Through this kind of knowledge one not only knows what follows from the first principles, but also possesses truth about the first principles.” Bertrand Arthur William Russell (1872–1970) was a British philosopher, logician, essayist and social critic best known for his work in mathematical logic and analytic philosophy.
Technology has shaped society and how people go about their day as it has impacted every detail in people’s lives. Technology has improved communication, education, and even medical clinicians. However, there are multiple downside to technology, especially when used incorrectly. It can lead to hacking, leaks, and people relying too heavily on it. It is argued that we are too reliant as is, and everyday we get lazy because of it.
In only a couple of decades, technology has imbedded itself into people’s lives, to the point it would be difficult to live without using technology. In Neil Postman’s speech “Informing Ourselves to Death,” he explains how not all technology is being used for what its original purpose was, and how people are starting to drown in the useless information technology gives. Postman also makes the claim, “And therefore, in a sense, we are more naïve than those in the Middle Ages, and more frightened, for we can be made to believe almost anything” (5). Though Postman gave this speech about thirty years ago, this accurately describes modern society. Technology was meant to help people learn and improve their lives, but it has instead increased the naivety of the world.
New technologies that people had never imagined a decade, or even some decades ago, are now expanding and changing all our lives. Taking smartphones as an example, people in old time had never imagined that small, tiny box could enable people to bring smart computer to everywhere. Yet, smartphones are now completely embedded into our lives and changed how we communicate. Technology lets us live simply, more conveniently, and more easily, but at the same time, it creates complex debates and controversies of ethical problems. In this world, where humans cannot live without the benefits of technology, it is impossible to ignore ethical problems.
