The Benefits of Renewable Resources
On the beginning day, our earth was very clean with fresh air and pure water. However, after centuries, exhaust gases caused by the emissions from industries, manufacturing activities and burning fossil fuels and other activities have been emitted into the atmosphere. As a result, lives and also other living things are being affected by the pollutants. The humanity is facing problems such as global warning, increasing demand, rising price of energy and so on. Since all living things depend upon the non-living parts

Especially, renewable energy industry can create more jobs. "Compared with fossil fuel technologies, which is mechanized and capital intensive, the renewable energy industry is more labor-intensive", according to UCS (“Benefits of Renewable Energy Use”, n.d., para. 15). Consequently, the more renewable energy is used, the more the unemployment rate will decrease. In 2011, the wind energy industry employed 75,000 employees in a variety of capacities, including manufacturing, project development, construction and turbine installation, operations and maintenance, transportation and logistics, and financial, legal, and consulting services. In the same year, the solar industry employed approximately 100,000 people; the hydroelectric power industry employed about 250,000 people in 2009, and in 2010, the geothermal industry employed relatively 5,200 people (“Benefits of Renewable Energy Use”, n.d., para. 16-17). In addition, the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) conducted an analysis of the economic benefits of a renewable energy standard by 2025 in 2009. Subsequently, they found that such a policy would create more than three times as many jobs as producing an equivalent amount of electricity from fossil fuel - resulting in a benefit of 202,000 new jobs in …show more content…
Industries in the renewable energy supply chain will benefit, and unrelated local businesses will benefit from increased household and business incomes. Local governments collect property, income taxes and other payments from renewable energy project owners. These revenues can help support public services, especially in rural communities where living standard need to be improved. Besides, farmers and rural landowners can earn extra income by producing feedstocks for biomass power facilities (“Benefits of Renewable Energy Use”, n.d., para. 20). Likewise, UCS analysis found that by the year 2025, the U.S renewable electricity standard would stimulate $263.4 billion in new capital investment for renewable energy technologies, $13.5 billion in new landowner income biomass production and/or wind land lease payments, and $11.5 billion in new property tax revenue for local
Since Texas is one of the largest producers of wind and solar power, it should encourage the use of renewable energy. If some Texas coal mines and oil drilling were to swap to wind and solar power the overall renewable energy will increase. For instance, “the increase in wind power and the retirement of almost 6,000 megawatts of coal-fired generating capacity, coal-fired power plants supplied 18 percent of state generation in 2021, down from a 36 percent share in 2011.” (U.S. Energy Information Administration, Page 4).5 Due to coal power becoming an outdated energy source, wind power can make a large contribution to the modern world all while being cheaper
People around the world worries about the air pollution and water pollution and life not being normal around the world anymore. The threat of spills keeps citizens around
By reinforcing laws and increasing the number of professional government inspectors, any loopholes and acts of bribery can be eliminated. Although regulating the carbon dioxide levels is important, nonetheless, nothing can truly be achieved if production has to stay the same while demand increases; thus, to make this scheme effective, a greener, renewable energy source is needed. Alternative energy is always a subject that is almost completely ignored by the Republicans, but mentioned by a handful of Democrats. But so far any significant effort, such
For sheer audacity, nothing beats Kennedy's speech to “...land a man on the moon and bring him safely back to the earth.” He could have said, “We will make the biggest pizza pie the world has ever seen and have every American eat a slice with the Soviet Union watching on live TV,” but that wouldn't have fired up quite the same fires of passion and imagination, or unleashed the tremendous wave of innovation the moonshot did. Looking back, the amazing thing is not accomplishing the safe return a moon landing, but that the nation allowed President Kennedy to make such a commitment. Today a U.S. President must fight with everything he's got, to do much less ambitious things than a moon shot —gun laws and health care. When he gave the “We choose to go to The moon” speech Kennedy said this, “We choose to go to the Moon! ...
The appliances that create natural energy must be priced lower in order for people to invest in them. Never the less, to actually make the use of natural energy effective, the government must get involved and set regulations and incentives to the people who are using natural sources of
Imagine a world where we have used up all of our nonrenewable resources and no longer have gas to power our cars, no coal to make energy, and no natural gas to power you household items. Well it might not be too hard to imagine, because it is predicted that in less than 75 years we will use up all of our natural gas, oil, and coal deposits. This is just one of many reasons that the government needs to put more funding into green energy. They not only need funding to find new sources of renewable energy but they also need to invest more in products that produce clean energy like solar panels, windmills, and turbines in dams. Climate change has been a center of attention for many years now, however it seems that very few changes have been made to slow or stop it.
The targets outlined in the document lack clear definitions and are vague in its wordings. Therefore, it is impossible to impose an exact measurement on any possible progress achieved. However, taking into account of the traditional ways of defining concepts and understanding issues, it is not difficult to achieve a rather general but accurate conclusion on the success or failure of reaching the targets. In short, by itself, the targets are not measurable, but with the past study and research accounted, the progress are very much comparable. Section 7.1 emphasizes the universal access to modern energy (UN, 2014).
Background: More than 1.2 million residents in the state of Arizona get their power from Arizona Public Service (APS), a public utility provider (Arizona Public Service, 2023). The corporation manages an extensive portfolio of power plants, some of which are powered by fossil fuels (coal, nuclear, and natural gas), others by renewable resources (solar and wind power), and still others by a combination of these and other energy sources. Nevertheless, APS has been confronting issues connected to costs in recent years. These challenges include increased costs associated with maintaining and operating its old power infrastructure and demand from regulatory authorities to move to greener energy sources (Arizona Public Service, 2023). Challenges:
Possible chance that this concern isn't covered soon, it will have tremendous affects for us too be carrying on with a solid way of life overtime as our activities will be irreversible. In this way, continuing to spread destructive toxins all around is intolerable conduct towards our environment.
Continuing on our current path condemns us to a future of more extreme weather, disease, famine, forced migration, and armed conflict. We need to show the American people what a clean energy revolution can do—create millions of new jobs, improve our infrastructure, environment, and public health, and ensure the society we leave to our children and grandchildren is stronger than the one we found. There is a quote by President Barack Obama saying, “To truly transform our economy, protect our security, and save our planet from the ravages of climate change, we need to ultimately make clean, renewable energy the profitable kind of energy,” (“151 Inspiring Environmental Quotes”). He believes as many due that nonrenewable resources are harmful to all aspects of life. The energy we use now is harmful to our planet, to humans, and to animals. Scientists are taking steps to making the world a better place. They found sources that replenished naturally in a short amount of time and are less destructive in all aspects.
“Renewable energy resources that is naturally regenerated over a short time scale and derived directly from the sun, indirectly from the sun or from other natural movement and mechanisms of the environment. Renewable energy does not include energy resources derived from fossil fuels, waste product from fossil sources, or waste products from inorganic sources.” There are a few types of renewable energy sources. 1) Wind Energy 2) Biomass 3)
Nowadays, we usually use the newer term called “wind turbine”.1 About four percent of the energy created in the United States comes from wind energy,2 and over 100 countries are now following in this trend and produce energy through the use of wind. This not only shows that a wind energy has great potential in the future, but also how popular it already is. It can be said that the more countries there are that using wind energy the better it is for our world. It is better because wind energy is a sustainable energy source.3 Looking back already at around 1000 AD wind power used and spread around northern Europe, starting with Holland.
Almost none of the fuel sources that we could use provide Co2 or other pollutants. Economic values could also come from renewable energy. Most of the Energy projects are located away from big cities. These benefits could bring local service as well as tourism. Although the pros are very big there are some cons.
Energy is simply the capacity to do work. Energy has become one of the necessities of our modern life. Energy can have many forms like heat, electrical, chemical, nuclear, light, etc. In the pre historic era fuel wood was the major sources of energy. Conventional energy sources are the ones that have been using so far to fulfill most f our daily energy requirements of cooking, lighting, transportation etc.
