1:29And straightway, when they were come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 1:30Now Simon 's wife 's mother lay sick of a fever; and straightway they tell him of her: 1:31and he came and took her by the hand, and raised her up; and the fever left her, and she ministered unto them. 1:32And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were sick, and them that were possessed with demons. 1:33And all the city was gathered together at the door. 1:34And he healed many that were sick with divers diseases, and cast out many demons; and he suffered not the demons to speak, because they knew him. 1:35And in the morning, a great while before day, he rose up and went out, and departed into a desert place, and there prayed. 1:36And Simon and they that were with him followed after him; 1:37and they found him, and say unto him, All are seeking thee. 1:38And he saith unto them, Let us go elsewhere into the next towns, that I may preach there also; for to this end came I forth. 1:39And he went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out

He mentions that even though there was several Preachers who had talked to the family they continued their heathen ways. Samson discusses that at age 16 he heard rumors that there was preachers who were extraordinary and were traveling from place to place. They did not arrive until summer time and preached the word of God to the Indians. He said that he was impressed with the preachers and it was at that period that he was awakened and converted to Christianity.
In chapter 3 of Speaking of Jesus, Carl Medearis talks about what it means to own Christianity. He says "If we don't truly know what the gospel is, we have to find an explanation for Christianity." Meaning that if we do not know what the gospel is or what it is teaching us, then we try to define it by our own standards, and that is where it gets messy. Medearis talks about how Christianity is more than a religion, but it is a relationship and people tend to not understand that. He explains why people are so defensive and put up their guards towards Christians, because Christians can be so judgemental.
When you instruct the ignorant you teach people who don’t know about about God about Him. Bl. Seelos lived out this virtue because he was missionary priest. Bl. Francis was a missionary in over 10 states.
In this chapter, Jesus is revealed as walking among the seven lampstands (representing the church), holding the seven stars in His right hand (representing the angels of the seven churches), His eyes like flames of fire, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword and His face like the sun shining in all its brilliance. He stands as the Judge of the whole
Lord Teach Me to Pray #6 Kingdom-Focused Prayer Text-Micah 4:1-5 Introduction-: In Philip Yancey’s book The Jesus I Never Knew he talks about how we live on Saturday, the day with no name: The other two days have earned names on the church calendar: Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Yet in a real sense we live on Saturday, the day with no name. What the disciples experienced in small scale—three days in grief over one man who had died on a cross—we now live through on cosmic scale.

Paul indicated that God continues to supply his spirit not because of working of the law, but rather because they believed the gospel of Christ crucified (3:1-5). With the encouragement of “living by the Spirit” (5:16), people could get a rich harvest of virtuous fruit, which was produced by the

Their ancestors did not obey the law sent through the angels, they resisted the Holy Spirit, and they persecuted any prophet that was teaching the gospel. While the Sanhedrin were stoning him, he asked God to not hold this sin against them. At these words he fell asleep and dead. Many people became Christians
While the other gospels emphasize the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven, John instead emphasizes new life found in Jesus. It’s from John that we get Christ’s famous claim “I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me” -John 14:6. Jesus frequently uses metaphors to hint at his identity. John records more of these analogies than any other gospel, giving us some of the most famous word pictures for Christ.
Question:"Consider the figure of Jesus in the Gospel of John, the Gospel of Thomas, or the Infancy Gospel of Thomas. Who or what is Jesus, in the Gospel that you have selected?" When studying the Gospel of John, Jesus is identified as the Son of God because the metaphor of the Lamb is used, Jesus Christ is mentioned instead of Jesus of Nazareth and Jesus acknowledges himself to the world as the Son of God. In the Gospel, the Lamb of God is referenced multiple times and distinguishes a sacrifice is in the mist. The reader consciously knows Jesus is God’s only son, nevertheless making the role of sacrifice an even harder burden to carry.
