The United States shouldn’t provide a path to citizenship for undocumented, illegal immigrants. They shouldn’t give illegal immigrants amnesty because the illegal immigrants would cost America trillions of dollars, and potentially put them in debt. Illegal immigrants wouldn’t help America, because most immigrants are not fully educated, thus lowering the job standards. Also, illegal immigrants would raise the crime rate in america, because most would commit around 2 to 3 crimes in their life. Illegal immigrants would cost America around 7 trillion dollars. They would lower job opportunities for lawful citizens of the United States. Many would commit many serious crimes also. This cost of 9.4 trillion dollars doesn 't count taxes that the illegal immigrants would pay. According to Jim DeMint and Robert Rector,” Illegal immigrants would pay only 3.1 trillion dollars in taxes”, which means that as a result ,illegal immigrants would still cost America 6.3 trillion dollars in government benefits and services.For now, that cost of 6.3 trillion dollars is all of the illegal immigrants combined.
