The Blacklist is a crime drama where Raymond Reddington, a career criminal, is an informant for a FBI task force in Washington D.C. and helps them track down criminals that only he knows about. Marvin Gerard is the second episode in season 3 of the Blacklist.
In this episode, Liz eludes the FBI by fleeing to the Russian embassy to seek political asylum after killing the Attorney General. After talking to high ranking officials, they agree to fly her to Moscow for more information. While this is happening, Raymond Reddington is talking to a Russian ambassador and finds out that the flight to Moscow is a trap from a terror group called the Cabal to assassinate Liz. She meets up with Reddington at a local diner where they talk about what to do next. Eventually, the police show up after a tip is called in that the two fugitives are at the dinner. Reddington shoots at the cops and takes the other customers hostage to begin a long standoff with the FBI SWAT team. Among his list of demands, he ask Agent Wrestler to bring his old attorney, Marvin Gerard, from prison to the diner. The two talk about writing a deal for Liz to take with the Department of Justice to clear her name for killing the attorney general, who was a suspected member of the Cabal. After Marvin Gerard gets an idea for the deal, Reddington leads Marvin, Liz and some of his associates to a tunnel where they make their escape right before the FBI enters the diner after finding out Reddington called the tip in on himself. The tone faded to a more slow, consoling tone towards the end after Liz, Marvin and Reddington escaped the diner up until Denbe is beaten. Generally speaking, this episode showed a collection of stereotypes for gender and class; however, the producers of this episode deviated from the path of stereotypes for race. Overall, this is one of my favorite episodes of “The Blacklist.” So far all the episodes of “The Blacklist” and the blacklisters featured in them are tied together in some way or another. In the next episode, I predict that Liz and Reddington are going to track down another criminal on the blacklist to help clear her name while the FBI tries to track them down before the Cabal tries to kill Liz and Reddington. I do have a positive notion for the outcome of Denbe; I believe he will escape where he is being held captive by the

They tricked Dr. W.W. Weinenger, by telling him that a small boy’s leg was crushed by a tractor. Once the doctor realized what had happened and treated him, they took the doctor and shot him in the head with a shotgun. As the shotgun splattered blood everywhere, it got on their hands. While they loaded the doctor's body into his car and pushed it into the river, one of their handprints were left on the car with the blood. The police were able to identify the fingerprint and track everyone down even though they had spread into different areas of the county.
Not only does this episode bring attention to many influential African Americans, it provides a lens for a younger audience to see and understand the racism in the past. Using Martin Luther King Jr’s actual words was very
In the days leading up to the crime Christopher Simmons would pressure his peers, Charlie Benjamin and John Tessmer, into assisting him in committing a crime. He wanted to burglarize a home and commit murder by tying up the victim and throwing them off of a bridge.. He told them that they could get away with it because they were all under eighteen meaning that no matter what they did they couldn’t get the death sentence. Christopher Simmons came up with the idea to break into the home of Shirley Crook, and without telling the others about it also had planned to murder her as well. The trio met up at Brian Moomey’s house, a local convicted felon who allowed teens to hang out on his property.
Showing an act of astounding courage, Melba still went to an all white school despite the traumatic experience. Lots of very realistic dialogues stood out to me but when the segregationists crowded central high on the first day and were screaming “Niggers, go home! Niggers, go back where you belong!” (Pg.35) I felt a pang in my heart as someone of my own family was hearing those cruel words.
Reardon of the FBI. But first, Jonah receives another mysterious letter, this time reading BEWARE! THEY’RE COMING BACK TO GET YOU. John had disappeared but in his absence the news anchor from Southpaw Regional Wrestling. (I had to fit wigs in somewhere). Kevin Spacey had enough of this. He had to film a remake of The Usual Suspects and was tired of this shenanigans. He grabbed Steven Seagal’s napkin and pointed at the fact that it was the only red napkin in the entire house.
“Invitation to a Murder” Essay As the author of “Invitation to a murder” portrays a suspenseful tone during the story, Josh Pachter creates many situational ironies throughout the story. The setting of the story is on the evening of December 16th, 1971, at Eleanor Madeline Abbot’s home. The short story begins when Chief Inspector Lawrence A. Branigan received a letter inviting him to the murder of Eleanor Madeline Abbot’s husband, Gregory Eliot Abbot. Branigan decided to go to the event. When Branigan Arrived at the event, he realized that there were eleven other men present.
The murder of Herbert, Bonnie, Nancy, and Kenyon by two men, Dick Hickock and Perry Smith, came as a shock to everyone and rocked the small town to its core. One of the special agents assigned to the Clutter case even said “Of all the people in the
We see injustice and narrow-mindedness throughout but is most prevalent with Tom Robinson’s trial, with Mayella and Bob Ewell taking the stand and giving their testimony. Because of Mayella’s ignorance and selfishness, she was able to put an innocent man in jail. She didn’t care about the social code that she would be breaking, and lured Tom Robinson, an african american that worked for Mr. Deas. She kisses him, and after Tom is able to run away, faces the consequences of her father. During the trial, Mayella
This hideout, the Hellman's apartment, was compromised when the FBI showed up. The result was a gunfight. This shootout involved one of the gang members, Homer Van Meter, and the agents. Van Meter managed to escape by forcing a truck driver out of his truck and using it as a getaway
I enjoyed the comical and lighthearted dancing and singing approach the characters had to the somber situations around them. Watching this few years later and after taking a Text and Meaning course, I was struck at the sheer amount of things that stood out. The Negroes were declared “other”. In post colonialist theory, declaring one race “other” marginalizes them and stresses on how
In addition to that, the black community isolated Sethe because she did something that the community considered wrong. Black feminism will be the approach utilized here to see the oppression of woman of color because it includes sexism, classism and racism. Since the female characters are very dominant in the novel, a black feminist approach should be very effective and it enables one to see how the female characters deal with the past and live with it in the present, what motherhood mean to the female characters, and how much the past influences the female characters who lives in the present. The end of the novel reveals the forgiveness and the acceptance not only of the black community toward Sethe’s choice (killing her daughter) but also of the white people (the Bodwins) who accepted Denver to work for them. This reconciliation shows that the courage and the will to get rid off from the past to live side by side peacefully and to move toward the future together.
