Most of the accused victims were either very wealthy or were social outcasts. Out of all the men, women, and children, there is not any actual evidence stated that they performed any witchcraft. The only evidence provided was spectral evidence. More than 200 people were accused of witchcraft during 1692 through 1693. The Salem Trials began in the month of February of 1692.
Bridget Bishop was the first witch hung. Eighteen other people followed Bishop and one hundred and fifty men, women, and children were accused through the following months. Though the Massachusetts General Court later cancelled guilty decisions against suspect witches and granted securities to their families, bitterness remained in the community, and the agonizing legacy of the Salem Witch Trials would suffer for centuries. Belief in the supernatural, more specifically in the devil, came into view in Europe around the early 14th century. As
Even though the Zodiac’s identity is still uncertain to this day there are some truths that investigators have confirmed. To begin with, the Zodiac would occasionally send letters to newspaper companies, and the first one he sent was on August 1, 1969 (“Zodiac Killer Biography”). Many investigators believe he was sending letters to newspaper companies because he wanted to intimidate the public and taunt the police for not being able to catch him. In addition to that, he would also include cryptic ciphers in his letters that contained hidden messages about his addiction to killing people (Newton 412). Furthermore, the Zodiac has been “directly linked to at least 5 murders in Northern California” (“Zodiac Killer Biography”).
The researcher states, “Half of the people in the world never heard of the Holocaust” (Jeff Nesbit).lie wants it to be brought back into the public eye. Elie also wrote the book to tell about the horrors that he can recall. One most memorable moment was when Elie says, “The SS used threats of death … (Wiesel, 114). Elie mainly uses the books to tell just hoe terrible it all was for him and all other
Here is a little summary of the Boston tea Party. So the Boston tea Party was organized by a group of Patriots that was led by Samuel Adams, well known as the Sons of Liberty were made by a few groups of males. Also the Boston tea Party happened as a result of the “taxation without representation”, but as always there were many causes. For example, the American colonists believe that Britain was being unfair taxing them, to pay for expenses incurred during the French and Indian War. But as some of us know that the colonists believed that Parliament had no right to tax them.
THe colony of roanoke There are a lot of theories about what happened to the lost colony of Roanoke but no one really knows what happened to them. These are some of what i think happened to the lost colony of Roanoke. This century technology is really good scientists may be able to find out what really happened to the lost colony of Roanoke say the National Geologists scientists. I think that the lost colony that the colony just killed by disease or they just simply left the settlement. There are a lot of theories what happened to the lost colony. I also thought that there was many native americans so they might have be abducted or killed by native americans.
On March 5, 1770, a heated argument broke out between many strong-willed colonists and British soldiers, about the different taxes the British were making the colonist fulfill and how unjust the British parliament was. The argument quickly escalated into a fight and then a so-called massacre, soon to be named The Boston Massacre. Although, there was the killing of colonists, should this event be called a ‘massacre’? In fact, only 5 colonists were killed in the shooting, and many claim that the colonists were not innocent therefore the Boston Massacre was not a massacre. The first reason the event was not a massacre is the colonists were not innocent and did harm the soldiers.
One common characteristic in the town of Salem in The Crucible is the fear of the unknown. In 1692, Witchcraft was a major event in the small town of Salem. Reverend Parris, the head of the only church in town, has large amounts of power in the town. Many proofs were possible to prove and convince you that Reverend Parris was the man that caused the witchcraft hysteria, but I chose only three. Reverend Parris was the only witness to observe a crime to be made and Parris also was the only person who shared the information about the with the town.
A group of colonists known as Samuel Adams and members of The Sons of Liberty disguised themselves as Mohawk Indians who boarded three ships and dumped 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. This midnight raid became known as “The Boston Tea Party” which is popularly known in American history. The arrival of these ships Dartmouth, Eleanor, and Beaver spread quickly making the colonist grow angry because they did not want to pay taxes. Although, The Tea Act of 1773 was one of the series of taxes that the inhabitants of the colonies were required to pay, the Tea Act was created to save the West India Company from faltering. Therefore, taxing the colonists was the best alternative way of saving the Company.
In the Christian faith, the 6th Commandment states that “Thou shall not kill.” In the United States of America, the government legally killed over a 1,000 of its own citizens since 1976, and there are nearly 3000 inmates on death row waiting for their execution currently. As a nation, America has been unable to stick with one stance on many issues. There have been amendments banning alcohol, and others making alcohol legal. Many states have pushed to make abortion illegal, but still willingly kill their own citizens. Because of the injustices that have occured and still happen, the United States government should push for capital punishment to be illegal due to its significance on the lives it touches.
