Poverty is a very deadly issue because it kills the population at a slow rate. Poverty is considered to be around for a long time period. Many people around the world die in absolute poverty. People are caught in a poverty trap as there are no schools, hospitals, transportation, and lack of food. Therefore, they would eventually get diseases which would lead to their death. Many poor countries in Africa are caught in environmental problems, and overpopulation. Africa has many natural resources and yet there are poor and unable to develop. So, what causes poverty? There are several reasons why poverty would occur which is corruption, and lack of resources in few regions. People see Africa as a corrupted continent where as having enough resources to develop, yet their governments do not use that money in a proper way. The governments uses these money for their own benefits. Trust is important, unfortunately, government’s corruption in Africa would destroy this trust between them and their people ensuring that money is well used. Despite all the resources that they have that makes Africa a rich continent yet Africa is one of the poor countries in the world. Poverty are caused by three reasons: colonization, civil war between tribes, and bad leadership.

Every African citizen wants a better life than there were living in under control of another country, but sometimes life doesn’t give the things people hope in having it.
