The Spanish American war involved both the Spanish and the Americans. It started by America wanting to buy Cuba from Spain. The Spanish responded harshly to this claim. While American interest in Cuba grew, Cubans tried and tried again to become independent from Spain. Some Americans were happy about the sudden rebuttal and others wanted the United States to support Spain in order to keep their investments.
This mentality led to the circulation of the idea of helping them break from the Spanish to be able to act freely for themselves. Americans’ views of Cubans led to hatred and disagreement with Spain. Throughout history there have been many wars in which different parties were fighting for either freedom or territory and in the Spanish American War both Spain and the United States were in conflict for both. The Spanish American War began in April 1898 and ended August 1898 which was a brief rivalry between Spain and the United States that led to the death of three hundred and seventy-nine Americans . The United States found themselves intervening in Cuba’s fight for independence against Spain after President McKinley and the queen of Spain tried their best to keep a war from even happening. Since its formation, the United States has imperialized several countries, including the Philippines, Cuba, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Imperialism was incorporated during the Spanish-American War, a four-month battle between the United States and Spain. Then, chaos induced after the explosion of the USS Maine in Cuba.
I returned a national war hero and with that title helping me, I was able to win the election for New York governor. At the start of Churchill’s life he was born into a wealthy and famous family and eventually became something huge. Then, he became prime minister and became allies with the U.S. and the Soviet Union to eventually make the Nazis surrender.
The outbreak of this uprising was in concern of many reasons, firstly the high level of corruption inside the country, secondly the gap between the social classes and the absolute power of the American over the country. But when Batista took the control by force he established despotic ideas of abolishing Cuba’s constitution and removing the power of the congress and that only was the spark that lit the bonfire of the uprising which took place between 1953-1959. In the beginning in 1953 on July 26 the opposition group of 170 men mainly formed by students and formal workers with Fidel Castro as his maximum figure, they had entered to the city of Santiago de Cuba and planned to attack the station of Moncada and finally try to persuade the citizens of the town to get rid of Batista but it was a completely failure. After this Castro and his supporters will be exile to Mexico where he strengthened his army and counted with the support of significant figures due to his principles of policy like nationalist ideas, stop with imperialism and established a social policy and finished with the era of “democracy” in Cuba. These new ideologies helped to the formation of “The Rebel army” name which will be given to Castro’s army by their enemies and attracted other figures such as the Argentinean “Che Guevara” whose role will have such importance in the freedom of Cuba over U.S influence.

Spanish-American war of 1896, Cuba was the last remaining colony of Spain in the new world. Cuban sugar cane workers were rebelling because of poverty and bad conditions. William Randolph Hearst, a sensationalist reporter who was investigating the war, sent an artist to Cuba to sketch the action. Unfortunately for him, nothing violent was happening, so Hearst exaggerated the truth. Pressured into war the president sends the Maine to harbor, but it suddenly exploded.
After President Polk, would be General Zachary Taylor (see figure 3). His courage and leadership made him a national hero. General Taylor won many crucial battles in the beginning middle and end of this war. After the war he used his heroism as a base to become President. He became president but died after 16 months in office.
