It is different than just looking at the micro level because the reasons for the dropout rate do not just apply to one person or family, but a larger audience. One reason for the high college dropout rate could be high schools are not preparing students properly. At the high school level, students are not treated the same as they are in college. The course work can be easier, teachers do not give their students as much freedom, and there are much longer hours in class. All of these aspects sound good for the high school level, however, they can be the polar opposites of how students are treated in college.
Preparing for the future will show them how to become more independent. Many may say that students should drop out because college is costly. Students should not drop out of college because it is the way to get a successful career, have economic stability, and preparation for the
According to the article Dropout Prevention, “Around 6.7 million people between the ages 16 to 24 are neither in school nor working. In addition, children under 18 years of age represent 23 percent of the population, and make up 33 percent of all the people living in poverty.” This is important because when a high schooler drops out they need consider that many jobs won’t accept them because of their lack of education. As people know many actors have dropped out of school to help fulfill their dreams of being an actor. In recent years, while Baltimore city schools have dramatically reduced suspensions, the dropout rate has been cut almost in half. One might say that it is a students choice to drop out or not, but many students dropout of school due to peer pressure and some students may feel like they are not good enough just because they can not catch up to the academic level of their peers because they were absent due to their suspension or suspensions. Therefore students who are suspended have a harder time catching up to their academic level and often dropout for this
How would you feel if your parents we’re getting drag out of there house and going to jail for you not attending at school and what if the dropout age is raised which forces you to go to college? More importantly what if this was happening to you? Thousands of parents are going to jail for their kid not attending school. The dropout age and truancy are such a huge debate that been going on for years with no end in sight, the government needs to step in to finish this debate already. "There's no evidence that these exams encourage students to stay in school," Keith Gayler, of the Center on Education Policy, told The Boston Globe, some educators are also concerned that the exam will disproportionately hurt students for whom English is a second language and those who come from schools with already low graduation rates. Twenty-six states either currently have a high school exit exam or plan to put one in place. Given the number of high school students in these states, it means that exit exams affect more than two-thirds of the nation’s public high school students. These exams vary from state to state in terms of content and opportunities for students who do not pass to retake the test and/or demonstrate competency.
Any fun game is a great way to cheer up someone who does not always get these opportunities. This not only helps the kids, but also the parents. It probably makes the parents sad to see their kids not playing sports, and they are most likely very thankful to be able to have their kids playing a sport. So in conclusion there are so many ways to help with hunger and homelessness, and these are just a few of them. If we all show some good to the world then we can make it a much better place.
Most homelessness is based from a lack of education, substance abuse, and/or unemployment. Education is life in the modern world and without that you are basically useless. There is a major substance abuse epidemic happening around the world right now and it is causing lots of people to become homeless. Along with substance abuse, people also find themselves homeless because of the recent raise in unemployment rates. Without jobs you cannot afford to live the life you want.
