Business owners are very interested in selling people their services, but what they do not say is how they put an individual at risk. Social networking has become the new thing within the past decade. There are many advantages to being with the new age and being connected to the world with a touch of a finger, but how much of the information that is given away is actually harming the identity and health of an individual. Social media has become the new source of identity theft and anxiety. Many of the children and teenagers are under pressure to keep up with the newest look and many adults have come to shopping online to avoid going to stores. When giving out information online no one knows who they are giving it to or what that person would do with it.

For example, there was a recent robbery in Lynn Massachusetts. “The Santander Bank at 35 Market Square was robbed on Tuesday October 13 at 11:01 a.m. An unidentified male entered the bank and demanded cash from the bank teller” ( https://www.facebook.com/LynnPoliceDepartment?fref=ts). Lynn Police Department used Facebook in a positive way by involving the community to seek answers on the suspect.

Social media can lead to many things such as cyberbullying, a person catfishing, or invasion of privacy. Many people tend to use social media as a way to bully people. Which isn’t a good thing bullying shouldn't exist at all. Not only that but people also tend to use social media to make a fake account to talk to someone or pretend to be someone else.
This does not mean social media is only harmful at all, Some may argue there are people who used their knowledge on social media to help others but it depends on the frequency of usage by the individual. “Others see more cons than pros. That's especially true for teens,”(Newspaper Source Plus) says Mike
It sometimes does not seem like a bad thing but it loses a lot of credibility. The news coming from social media has affected the mainstream news
An ethical dilemma happens when two or more ethical principles conflict with one another. Ethical dilemmas are problematic situations in which it is not clear which choice will be the right one. The CP is stuck as to what to do next because there is not just one outcome that will satisfy the ethical principles as stated in the Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW) Code of Ethics (Kirst-Ashman & Hull, 2012). According to the SASW (2017), the core values of social work are embedded in the ethical responsibilities, which are relevant to the professional activities of social workers.

Living in the modern era makes social media become part of our life. Basically, social media are used for communication and social interaction. Based on the Merriam-Webster, social media are forms of electronic communication (as websites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (as videos). There are lots of social media that people use nowadays such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Path, and others. Most of people probably have two or more social media’s accounts.
So many people are on one network online, social media has essentially become a second world. That being said, social media should not be encouraged to the public. At first use, social media does not seem dangerous, but it is. These sites diminish its user’s privacy to the point that it is accepted (Anderson 1). Not only do social networks hurt us, but users use it in a way for emotional self-harm.
Web 2.0 is a popular word in the last decade. It includes blogs, photos and files sharing systems and networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. There are many advantages that technology has brought upon us, one in particular is the Internet. The Internet has allowed people to be connected quickly to information and be updated to the issues and happenings around us, but the social networks that have been invented to allow long distance connection have been resulting in negative outcomes for society and our generation. Social media gets in the way of building actual relationships, makes people become inauthentic about their lives and lowers their self-esteem, and has become a dangerous and threatening nature. During these days, it seems as if nobody can live without checking their social media accounts, whether it’s Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.

Firstly, social media makes communication a lot easier than before. In the past, most people used phones and letters for communicating with others; they were not an effective way of communication because they were time consuming and not instant.
Chapter 1 Background of the Study Introduction In the contemporary world, most people use social media for news, entertainment, to seek information and to be updated every day.
