With the remarkable development of multi-companies and the fierce competitiveness in the labor market, employees from all over the world are now experiencing a lot of stress at the workplace. This has, therefore, detrimentally impacted the lives of many individuals. And the statement ‘Work stress kills’ has perfectly described the seriousness of this alarming issue.
Work stress is basically the adverse reaction and feeling of anxiety people have to suffer due to the excessive demand being placed on them at work. There is no doubt that stress does not only affect one particular job or industry but can happen to anyone at any level of business. Stress is a highly personalized phenomenon and can vary among different employees. However, there are some common causes of this for everyone.

Workplace stress can also result in cognitive impairment such as concentration and memory loss. Job stress can fray nerves, insomnia, and contribute to severe health problems such as heart disease. Long-term stress also messes with blood pressure and weakens the immune system and breaks the resistance to diseases. Job stress is also associated with various biological reactions that may lead ultimately to compromised health or even worse, an excessively and chronically experience of stress will lead the employees to commit suicide. The Japan’s high death rate due to work stress can be a typical instance for this.
