Ambition can be used for good or evil. At the beginning of the play, Lady Macbeth uses her ambition for cruelty and wants to gain power. Lady Macbeth shows her cruelty by saying, “Come, you spirits that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, and fill me from the crown to the toe topful of direst cruelty!” (1.5.38--41). What she means by this is that if Macbeth is too scared and cowardly to kill Duncan then she wishes that she was not a woman so that she could do it herself. She persuades her husband into killing Duncan by saying, “screw your courage to the sticking-place, and we’ll not fail” (1.7.60--61).
One example is how is easily persuaded by Lady Macbeth to commit such a heinous crime, and murder their King. After, that their downfall begins because they are both so plagued by guilt it starts to affect them both mentally and physically. The first hallucination that Macbeth experienced was the floating dagger that he claimed to Lady Macbeth, led him to King Duncan the night he murdered him (Shakespeare, 2.1.40-46). Then when Macbeth returns to his wife after murdering King Duncan, he asks her if she has heard any strange noises. Macbeth then goes on to explain how, “There’s one did laugh in’s sleep, and one cried, ‘murder!’ That they did wake each other: I stood and heard them: but they did say their prayers and address’d them again to sleep” (Shakespeare, 2.2.28-31).
Macbeth discusses killing King Duncan to Lady Macbeth, to which she says, “When you durst do it, then you were a man”(ll. 50). With hesitations Macbeth is drawn to commit a murder that should not take place. Lady Macbeth calls him out on his weakness, saying he will be a man when it is all over with. Macbeth is weak and listens to Lady Macbeth and kills King Duncan for her want to be Queen of Scotland.
The first person to die is Mercutio, who is killed in a fight with Tybalt (Act III Scene I). This is a heartbreaking loss for Romeo, who then proceeds to fight and kill Tybalt as revenge. This leads to the banishment of Romeo, another tragic incident. After Romeo is banished, Juliet and the Friar devise a plan to ensure that Juliet will not be forced to marry Paris (Act IV Scene I), the suitor who Juliet’s parents want her to marry. To take the plan into action, Juliet drinks a potion that makes her appear dead (Act IV Scene III).
He even hallucinates of a dagger with blood because he is so traumatized by the murder. While this is happening Lady Macbeth is almost unaffected and commands her husband to wash his hand and dispose of his close taking care of the necessary means for them not to get caught. Even before the murder you can see how incontrol Lady Macbeth was. She mentions “put this night’s great business into my dispatch and leave all the rest to me” ( Shakespeare 70 ). This basically shows how she is telling Macbeth how to behave before they commit the crime as she knows he will have trouble with the

—No more o ' that, my lord, no more o ' that. You mar all with this starting” (V.i line 36-38). Even though, Lady Macbeth had nothing to do with the murders after Duncan, like Banquo and Macduff’s wife as well as his son, she still feels guilty because she created the monster, by manipulating Macbeth to kill Duncan. Another reason Lady Macbeth feels remorseful is because she had to do with some of the action in the murder, for example planning the death of Duncan and framing Duncan 's attendant.
