Who was to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s tragic outcome? The tragic outcome, in this case, being the death of the two teenagers and many others who were involved with them. Several characters such as Friar Laurence, Mercutio, and Lord + Lady Capulet caused to an extent the downfall of Romeo and Juliet. To be fair, they were only trying to help and believed they were doing the right thing. Had it not been for their naiveness and haste actions, this story could have gotten a much happier ending.
Romeo and Juliet were two young lovers from troubled families. Their love was so strong that they ended up dying for eachother. But who is to blame for this horrible tragedy? I believe that some of the characters to blame for this are Friar Lawrence, the two families, and Romeo and Juliet. These characters show to be to blame because they either disobeyed, were too reckless, should’ve payed more attention, or should’ve been more understanding.
Friar Lawrence intends to take credit for his plan to restore peace in Verona. If he had been successful, he could have called for an audience with the prince--the Montagues and Capulets in attendance, naturally. Then he could have informed the Capulets that their daughter was not dead, as they thought, but was alive and happy… The friar could then have informed all present of the end that his resurrection scheme served: to end the feud and so restore civil harmony by marrying Romeo and Juliet… He would receive civil adulation…
I believe that The Feud, Friar Lawrence and Tybalt all play a role in Romeo and Juliet's death. The Feud between the families was quite major and with Romeo (a Montague) and Juliet (a Capulet) falling in the love, it made it even worse. The families of Romeo and Juliet didn't support their love and if there wasn't a feud between the Montague's and Capulet's, Friar Lawrence wouldn't have had to create a plan to hide their marriage. Friar Lawrence played a big role in Romeo and Juliet's relationship and his actions ultimately lead to the death of the two. He marries the two behind their families back, creates a potion for Juliet to fake her death and fled Juliet at her tomb, where she then killed herself.
Unlike the mentors in Romeo and Juliet, good mentors “[teach] the mentee to develop their own strengths, beliefs, and personal attributes”(Loretto). Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet, had a shocking turn of events that were led by the decisions of the mentors. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet’s parents are in an ancient grudge with each other, so Romeo and Juliet are star-crossed lovers. Some events of fate and the tragic flaws of the characters lead to the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet. While some may argue that Romeo and Juliet’s personalities are responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, it is actually the mentors’ fault because of the encouraged marriage, the complicated plan, and thoughtless consequences.
When Friar John returns Friar LaThe person at most fault for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet is Friar Lawrence. The Friar married the couple hoping for a good outcome but it came out in death and it was at fault of the Friar. The Friar had good intentions by helping Romeo and Juliet by getting married.
The blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet in Romeo and Juliet is on Friar Lawrence. He is the cause because of the actions and decisions he made and showed through out the novel. Actions such as keeping Romeo and Juliet’s marriage in secret eventually led to both of their deaths. Another action that led to the two lover’s death is Friar Lawrence faking Juliet’s death.
Responsibility means our ability to make a decision that satisfy ourselves and others, and to take the consequences for the action. When people hear the word “responsibility”, most people associated it with the word, blame. When something happens, people would say “Whose responsibility is this?”. In the book, Romeo and Juliet, Friar Laurence and the Nurse are trying to help Romeo and Juliet get married, unfortunately they both suicide in the end and I believe that Friar Laurence and the Nurse are responsible for their death.
The heart-warming tale of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare has been known for centuries because of its strong ability to draw the audience’s attention. This wonderful tragedy begins with two lovers, Romeo Montague, and Juliet Capulet. However, there is an underlying family feud among their families which create several complications along their journey. As Romeo and Juliet’s love advances through the week, it strengthens their passion towards one another. The conflicting families suspend the lover from loving harmoniously.
In the story, the characters made choices, but it was fate that made things play out and be timed the way they were. For example, Juliet says, “Give me, give me! O, tell not me of fear!” (Shakespeare 4.1.124). In this part, Juliet made the choice to take, and later drink, the vial.
Friar Lawrence finds out about Romeo and Juliet’s love for each other, but does not tell the two families about this. If he had told the families, maybe Romeo and Juliet could have been able to date because both of the Lords are wise and might have consider letting them get married to end the feud. However, if the families disapproved of Romeo and
Friar Lawrence was the wise adviser to Romeo and Juliet. He kept their secret and helped them be together. He was the one who married the two, hoping that the marriage would cause an end. To the fending He was the one who came with the idea of giving Juliet the potion to put her in a come state for 42 hours. He wrote a letter to Rome, but it never came to him because of the plague.
I believe that many characters contributed to the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet but i think that the highest contributor was Friar Lawrence because he got them married so quickly and secretly. This was the main contributor to the problem that escalated out of control so quickly. My first reason for believing this was mostly friar lawrence’s fault is because he got them married which is irreversible and caused so many problems because it was a secret. Where this started to become a real problem is when Paris tried to marry Juliet she as was already married.
Will you do anything for love? In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo will do anything for it. In the story “Romeo and Juliet,” by William Shakespeare there were several events that led to a lot of people’s deaths. People died, because of the actions of Romeo and Juliet. Friar Lawrence is the blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death, because he was the wise adviser to them.
The Fatal Flaws of Romeo Have you ever loved someone so much that you would be willing to give your life to be with them? In Shakespeare’s compelling play, Romeo and Juliet, that was the decision that Romeo and Juliet had to make. Romeo and Juliet were born into families that had been hostile toward each other for generations. When Romeo, a member of the Montague family, met Juliet, of the Capulet family, he immediately wanted to marry her despite their opposing families. Juliet’s father, Lord Capulet, had already decided he would marry her off to Paris, a member of the Capulet family, so Juliet decided to run away.
