Every child deserves a proper education. Banned books are depriving students of a well rounded, culturally aware, literary education because of the culture that is discarded, the history that is being withheld, and the education that young people could get through these banned books. The point of history is to learn from it and learn from others mistakes, but how can we do that if we are not allowed to learn it. As teachers shouldn’t you be teaching us how to make judgment calls like understanding that Mark Twain was a racist, but a man of his time and that doesn’t change him being an amazing writer. We cannot learn things such as that if we cannot even read most of Mark Twain’s books. In the 1930’s the Nazi’s burned any and every book or paper

Censorship in schools may not be the best choice for enriching the future minds of the United States of America. Children of the United States of America should have the right to learn about anything for it is there amended right. Taking knowledge away from them and censoring it should not be the answer to keeping our Children pure it should be what we teach our kids. We need to teach them right and wrong that is what will keep our child’s mind pure. Many books are being taken off shelves every day in student libraries because a couple people do not think that the book is suitable for children. Children just like us have a mind of their own and should be able to make their own decisions by themselves to either pick up the book or to leave it alone. Censorship does not exist in public places such as stores even though children enter stores everyday these kids have learned the decency of what they should or should not do they learned what they want and what they do not want what they like and what they do not like that should be a reason that children should be able to make censorship their choice.

Banned books are books that have been taken out of public environments because of many different reasons. Books should not be banned simply because we have the rights to any books. Banned Books can teach important things about our history. Books that have been banned teach great morals/lesson even with the negative content. Banning Books infringes on people 's personal rights.

However, there are also reasons why books should not be banned. When children enjoy books, it improves their vocabulary, and it teaches them life lessons. Moreover, it takes away a citizen 's first amendment and the right to free speech. Lastly, the series, Harry Potter has inappropriate topics that led it to being banned like magic, sorcery, and witchcraft. Some books are frequently banned in schools because they contain profanity/slurs, and explicit content; however, some people argue that these precisely same books are worth reading because they teach extremely crucial life lessons, and defends the First Amendment.

If a reader is mature enough to handle some curse words or bad behavior then they should be able to read banned books. Also, some say that you should not be exposing bad behavior or language to students but in reality they hear and see these things everyday, and by banning a book, that is not protecting them.

What if your young child is looking through a book at your public library and comes across a topic that was way too mature for their mind set. Would you be okay with it? A big controversial issue that has been going on in the past year is if books should be banned. Now, no one is trying to banish libraries across the globe but people have requested to ban books that are inappropriate. This matter has grown to be worse because everyone has an opinion. So I think that books should not be banned. I have three main idea the first on is that the books can be about history and they have some language back then that was fine but is not fine today. The second reason is that libraries should be able to hold all types of books but have an age restricted area. The last reason is that it will get rid of children’s first amendment, and the authors first right as well. Be that as it may, there are multiple reasons why books should be taught and included in a curriculum. If you really want a book not to be read by an adolescent, banning the book will often have an opposite effect. Although it contains sensitive topics and harsh language, The Secret Life of Bees should not be banned in high schools because students are not only mature enough to handle these issues but should, in fact, be exposed to them in an educational environment to help in the development of their maturing minds.

When you ban and censor books inside those books are the fears you hold and that you don’t want to see. It is because of that reason why today there are so many social problems in our world. Not banning books wouldn’t solve all the social problems in the world but it would take us into the right direction. Keep people from the truth of banned books is the same as lying to them. Not letting your children and even just normal people read something because you don’t see it correct does it make it correct for them not to read that book. Banning and censoring books is keeping the truth while telling lies and holding mankind from moving
