In the news article, “The Controversy over Anne Frank’s Legacy,” published by JTA, the author, Tom Nugend, questions whether Anne Frank should be the icon of the Holocaust. I agree with the author’s claim that Anne Frank shouldn’t be the main person of the Holocaust because many other Jews had to suffer more than she and her family did. Her family was lucky that they had a place to go into hiding and that they had friends that offered them things that they needed. While Anne Frank and the others stayed in the annex, many Jews and other innocent people were taken to concentration camps. In the camps, they were forced to work and they barely received any food. Also, the author mentions that some parts of the diary were taken out which would make
The leader I chose is Anne Frank. She was a teenage writer who was journaling all of her experiences during the Holocaust while hiding. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany on June 12, 1929. Anne went to school at Montessori Amsterdam. She lived in an Annex for safety from the Nazis during the Holocaust.
One of the more well-known victims of the Holocaust is Anne. She was a Jew who lived a secret life. Her story is very interesting for many of us because it tells a lot about her and her family surviving in the Secret Annex before it had happened. Her story from the diary helped a lot about how they had to live secretly which was a lot difficult for her and the family.
Prior to World War 2 Jewish people were the main family or culture that the Nazi’s been feeding off of and killing approximately 6,000 each day. Which led to 6.5 million Jews dead at the end of the war and a few survivors. Although one of these few survivors was Otto Frank, father of Anne Frank, Diarist of one of the most famous diaries, “The Diary of Anne Frank.” World War 2 was a devastating event that changed how Jews lived because because they were said to be “Divergent.” How I felt about the events covered in the Diary of Anne Frank was dramatically depressing.
To appreciate and comprehend the human beings that surround us will ensure a brighter future for us as a whole. It is also important as a person to stray from the direction of hatred and silence, in a difficult situation. As Elie Wiesel put it “There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.” My earlier studies of the Holocaust did not contain the voice of a human, facts were listed, sifted through, and analyzed. And then, we met Anne Frank, a young girl living in the middle of a war torn era.
Approximately eleven million people were killed during the Holocaust, six million of there were Jews. An estimated 1.1 million children were murdered in the holocaust. Anne Frank was one of the 1.1 million children. ("Anne Frank." History.com.)
As a result of the Nazi’s discrimination, millions of people died during this time and were sent to concentration camps. Anne Frank was an influential part of the Holocaust because she educated people about what happened to people like her and her personal story about growing up during this period of time. She is influential even today, thanks to her diary and her legacy lives on today. Anne Frank was born Annelies Marie “ Anne “ Frank on June 12, 1929, in Frankfurt, Germany.
The 1940s were a crucial time all over the world with hardships and wars going on for years. Within these wars, two little girls that have been apart of it their whole lives, have shared their experiences through a diary and a book of stories. The Diary of Anne Frank is about a young jewish girl named Anne Frank, who has to go into hiding with her family in order to not get caught and taken away by the Nazis in Amsterdam, and while in hiding, records her experiences and thoughts into her diary. Farewell to Manzanar is a book based on a girl named Jeanne Wakatsuki who is seven years old at the time, and gets taken away with her family to Manzanar encampments, as the U.S. government doesn’t want to risk any Japanese Americans possibly giving up information to the Japanese as they are at war with them. Anne Frank and Jeanne Wakatsuki have many similarities and differences throughout their lifetimes on the run from the war.
Anne Frank’s Legacy There is nobody better at hide and seek than Anne Frank. The Franks lived in a confined space for almost two years with four other people, never once getting to go outside. I hope they weren't claustrophobic. Throughout this lengthy period Anne expressed her feelings through writing. Her journal was named Kitty, to keep her company.
Anne Frank Explanatory Essay In the year 1933, the tragedy known as the holocaust began with Adolf Hitler. This event killed over 6 million people, and impacted many more. One family that was greatly affected were the Franks. In 1945 the Franks went into hiding.
During World War II, the German Reich marched across the entire continent of Europe. During the Holocaust, many people became discouraged and lost hope in the future of society. However, the excerpts from “Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl,” written by herself, and “Hitler Youth: Growing up in Hitler’s Shadow” by Susan Campbell Bartoletti, prove that being positive and persevering is the best thing that someone can do. Whether hiding from the Nazis or already taken by them, the best response to have during conflict and chaos is maintaining a positive outlook on life and to persist through difficult times.

The theories on how Anne Frank and the others in the annex were discovered included one of the employees tipped off the police, neighbor or passerby could have heard and alerted authorities, or discovered by chance. For example, the article says, “Otto, who passed away in 1980, long suspected that one of his employees, Wilhelm van Maaren, had tipped off the police.” The article also says, “They’re hoping to determine whether a neighbor or passerby could have heard the Franks and alerted the authorities... A 2016 report by the Anne Frank, a museum created from the Frank’s hiding place in Amsterdam, suggested that the authorities may have gone to Otto’s business to investigate forged food-ration cards and other illegal activities, not find Jews.” There are many theories on how the Franks and others were discovered but the mystery is still unsolved.
The Anne Frank Diary is an actual diary written by anne frank in 1942 - 1944 when her , her jewish family and four other jewish people have to go into hiding in the back rooms of an amsterdam office building which they called the secret annexe, because the nazis invaders became stricter about the persecution of jewish people. In her diary she writes about her transition from having lots of friends and having a carefree life (besides the restrictions of being a jew) to living in cramped conditions, never having enough food and always being afraid of being caught. The conflict in the book is between nazis and jews. This made me realise the extent that some jews went to to escape the horrible concentration camps and the nazis.
