There was a time when I held a grudge against someone due to a particular incident. During the time the only thing that I thought about was to take revenge against him in a cruelest way. I tried hard to take revenge against him, but then I noticed that revenge will not solve anything. After forgiving, I found peace in my heart. I have learnt that forgiveness requires courage but it leads to tranquility. After all, forgiving someone was not a hard thing to do. Forgiveness is a form of self-improvement; forgiving improves one’s life by ceasing the cycle of resentment.…show more content…
For example, if you got hit by a gang group, how would you feel? I bet all you feel is anger. You will want them to die and go to hell. You will plan to revenge against them. We have to remember that we can’t overcome evil with evil. If we overcome evil with evil, the problem will get worse. Taking revenge against someone is like shooting a gun that shoots both ways. It won’t just kill the opponent but it will also kill you. Revengeful thoughts are the fatal poison that kills you slowly. You will only think about taking revenge against someone. It is a stressful to think about those thoughts. We could overcome the situation with forgiveness. When you forgive the person or people, you will find peace. Everybody at least once forgave someone in their lives. There are three things that are hard to do in our lives. They are thanking, apologizing, and forgiving. Forgiving is one of the important things because if there is no apology, there will be no good relationship.
