You know those Virtual Reality goggles that you put on and suddenly your phone screen is 3 inches from your face? Or you put them on to watch Grey’s anatomy because your little sister is watching Paw Patrol on the TV and you don’t want to watch that? Or you put them on to experience Star Wars projections in your living room and you get to fight them with a lightsaber? It’s amazing how a little contraption can attach to an invisible connection with a phone and show you whatever you want. Now take that concept and put it into a movie theater. Yes, the room with surround sound and reclining rows of chairs and popcorn all over the floor and a giant screen that takes up an entire wall. Imagine sitting in a movie theater, and a second later you’re …show more content…
I wanted to do so many things and I couldn’t choose just one career. There was just no way I could only use one side of my brain and be completely and utterly happy. An art career wouldn’t use math and science everyday, and a STEM career wouldn’t use art everyday. So I researched and researched and researched and eventually decided to become a surgeon. I could use math and science daily, my parents would be proud of me, I got to help people get a better life. But as I did even more research, I started to miss art and writing. I was at a crossroads, and I didn’t have a single idea which road to take. In the shower one night, the idea of a virtual reality movie theater literally slammed into my head. It was such a relief that I laughed, to myself, while shampoo was running into my eyes. Becoming an engineer would allow me the freedom of developing the real-life dream, and so it seemed perfect. Even though I may have to move for a job, and it is not a traditional art career, becoming an engineer would be fit for me because it encourages critical and creative thinking, the benefits of the career including salary would be enough to pay off education debts, and an engineering degree can be combined with an art degree at some
Theaters were originally called Nickelodeons, they were very cheap to get in but were usually run down and small. In the 20’s Nickelodeons evolved in to elaborate theaters that could seat many people because of the popularity of the film industry. Like the radio, movies became very influential in the lives of Americans and were a new fun source of entertainment (“digital
Do you remember in kindergarten when the teacher would ask the class what they wanted to be when they grew up? The answers usually consisted of firemen, doctors, princesses, cowboys, or an astronaut. Then there was always the teacher’s pet who of course said they wanted to be a teacher (typical). Well college is a lot like kindergarten. Your advisor asks you,” what do you want to do with your life after college”, but this time the answers don’t come as easily.
The Art in Education In first grade we had to draw a picture of what we would be doing 20 years from then. We had to draw what job we would have, what our hair would look like, what we would be wearing, and I chose to draw a picture of me drawing a picture. As a first grader I knew that my future would mirror what I was doing in that exact moment; I would still have curly hair, and I would still be an artist. Loudly proclaiming that I was going to be an artist when I grew up was ok in elementary school, but at the end of middle school it was often challenged with “but what are you really going to be?”
I had ideas, but I didn’t have anything I was extremely passionate about yet. My junior year, while I was going through a rough patch in my life, I started to work at a daycare to get my mind off things and make a couple extra dollars. After only a couple shifts at the daycare, my passion was incredibly clear… teaching children. I was able to help children who needed me and it made me feel an incredible sense of worth at a time when I felt worthless. The way their problems were so small, the way they smile endlessly, and the way they were so innocent and untouched by the troubles of the world made me want to always be around them.
As a child I always desired to study math and science. There is just something about solving problems, and finding solutions that catches my attention. Learning about the world, and how it function is very interesting to me. These subjects have help keep me wondering what I could learn next, and the reason being that I am a scholar in my classes. One accomplishment that I am proud of is being on the A&B honor roll.
The path of my dream occupation has been relatively linear. I’ve known since I could ever remember that I wanted to be in the medical field. My grandmother was a nurse and I think her compassion for helping others rubbed off on me. I always looked up to her, so I consider working in the medical field to be continuing her legacy.
After I was married and had a child ; I knew I needed a better job to be able to provide for my family. I decided to become a Certified Nurse Assistant with the persuasion from my sister; it was one of the hardest jobs ever, but so rewarding! I knew then and there I wanted to become a Nurse. I was hooked, I loved taking care of people and I felt the need and the pull to help others. I knew God had set the path for me, I just needed to follow it.
Until I decided to go to Lenape, I had not had any plans for what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. When I learned I could graduate as a Certified Nurse Assistant, I was interested immediately. However, I knew I wanted to accomplish more than that. I love learning and I have a lot of empathy so I knew healthcare would be a perfect match for me.
The career I have chosen has to do with criminal justice. Criminal justice is something that 's always seemed to grab my attention. It 's something I feel I was born to be interested in. I really enjoy helping others in any way so I figured why not pursue a career as a probation officer. Not only will I be helping others, but I will be preventing an offender from repeating the same mistake.
As a young child, I had a lot of aspirations and dreams for my future career. Originally, I wanted to become a doctor and planned to whatever was necessary to get into medical school. My father was a doctor and as a young unknowing child, I looked up to him. I was fascinated by the human body and the complexity of the various systems that kept it functioning. progressed through my high school classes, I realized that while I enjoyed learning about science, I was more interested in the human mind and behavior.
For my career, I am going with CNA, EKG, and Phlebotomy. The reason I picked these for my career is because I like to help people. Knowing I can make a difference in the world by doing something as simple as helping a patient eat or take their blood for a blood test they need done is amazing knowing you’re the one helping them. Not many people realize how much work a nurse does for a living. We have to make sure that we don’t fall behind on work because it will mess the other nurses up.
They think studying liberal arts is a future of unemployment and uncertainty. But, it is important to override these belief because of the large opportunity for art majors in the world. My experiences as a child, influences, and mentors have inspired me to study art history at Belmont and I want to share my experiences and knowledge of my process. What drives you to study art and pursue a career in this impressive field?
I chose this career path because I love working with people and positively impacting them. At college I will be earning a degree while learning how to adapt to life changes and bettering myself. After I earn my degree, my second goal is to raise a big happy family. By being financially stable with my own college degree, I will be
When I was growing up, multiple people questioned me about my future career, and others even pressured me into certain careers. All the influences I have had over time have formed my idea of the perfect occupation, that fits my personality and interests. The careers I have based my future life plans are a pharmacist or a certified registered nurse anesthetist. Both of these careers require a great deal of school and hard work. My decision of these careers was influenced by both of them being within the medical field, and also both focus on helping people.
Virtual Reality is the buzz around these days. A very common question these days is "What is Virtual Reality?" Virtual Reality also known as VR is a three-dimensional computer generated environment experience in which the user can interact with the surroundings. This interaction is known as "telepresence" and it is this interaction that makes it unique. In other words, it is an environment created with special electronic equipment, which a user feels he is a part of without actually being there.
