“Brother, Brother, Brother, do not leave me! Do not leave me!” (p.425) Brother left and he did not come back to save him till it was to late because he was disappointed in Doodle for not running fast enough to keep up with him. All these reasons on how Brother was mad a Doodle comes to a conclusion on why he causes Doodles
In the rainstorm, the narrator ran from Doodle, and Doodle must have fallen and died somewhere, because when his brother came back for him, Doodle was dead. The narrator is responsible for Doodle’s death because he overworked Doodle and expected
He even characterized his father as being woman like. Okonkwo got angry very easily when dealing with things that he didn’t like such as a weak man. Showing love and affection wasn’t something that he did very often, not even to his family. He thought that it would make him look weak if he showed affection. Okonkwo portrays really violent stubborn and irrational behavior so he isolates himself.
For the reason that Doodle did not learn how to swim the narrator makes him “swim until he turns blue” and he also “ rows until he can not lift an oar” (422). The narrator also “purposely walks fast” and although Doodle can keep up his “face turns red and his eyes become glazed” (422). The narrator pushes Doodle until he looks feverish and has nightmares every night. Pushing Doodle too hard could have many reasons, but one reason seems to stick out the
Doodle’s disabilities affected him from birth so he was not treated equal and his brother wanted him to learn the things he should already know. What prompted Doodle’s brother to help him was embarrassment which over came all of his feelings. Being different was hard for Doodle but at times it was harder for his brother to put up with because, as the narrator states, “Doodle was my brother and he was going to cling to me forever, no matter what I did.”(Hurts 159). Unfortunately Doodle was told he would never live and because of that he was never taught anything as a child. It would take Doodle a long time to learn everything.
The narrator’s pride lead to the death of his little brother, Doodle. When we think of siblings we all think of someone to play, run, fight, and talk to with but, narrator wasn’t able to do those things with his little brother Doodle The narrator often failed to appreciate Doodle. Doodle was very small and fragile. He was born with a very weak heart so, he couldn’t do much. The narrator thought that because Doodle couldn’t play, run, fight, and talk to him his brother was “crazy”.
Rex Walls can’t save himself or his family because of how irresponsible he is. Rex has changed a lot through out the Glass Castle and he actually changed in a bad way. He went from this person that cared about family to a type of person that did not care about family and just drank his life and his money away. Rex didn’t learn from his mistakes and just said ok and then moved on with his life. If Rex would have learned from his mistakes, his life would of been a lot better for him and his

This is another way that Tristan is trying to deal with the grief that he has been handed in life. His reasoning for becoming married is that he could make a son that would replace his brother, Samuel. Tristan knew that this move was a selfish one, but he could not fathom anything else. He was crazy in love and the sad fact was that it was only because of the stress caused of his brother dying.
