For the past 15 years or so the Internet has become an everyday essential for the majority of the world population. Indeed since the mid 1990s’ the Internet has significantly changed the way people interact with each other, conduct business, search for information and etc. Rise of electronic mail, voice over Internet Protocol telephone calls, interactive video calls, instant messaging, World Wide Web (with its social networking websites, blogs and forums) and finally online shopping are just a handful of examples of contemporary necessities without which everyday activities would have been greatly encumbered or even seem to be impossible. Even in today’s world digital technologies together with the Internet is an integral part of everyday life for the majority of the global population. Therefore, an immense technological innovation makes it reasonable to believe that an affordable, mobile and global Internet accessibility will be achieved in the very near future, thus allowing every person in the world be a part of a digital society. Consequently activities conducted over the Internet will become as ordinary as any activity that is considered to be usual in the physical world. A fine example of EU e-commerce area (in terms of its rapid growth and application) illustrates such idea.
