Poetry and prose are entirely different from each other. But both can be written gracefully. Poetry tends to have more figurative language, by that we mean things that are not taken literally. Whereas Prose tends to have less figurative language. Poetry tends to be more focused on the importance of rhythm and meter, especially the older poetry. Prose tends to be less focused on the rhythm and meter. Another difference between prose and poetry is whether the imagination is active or not. In prose, we are taken by the hand and show everything in detail, whereas in poetry, we fill in the description more with our imagination and thoughts. Compare to prose, poetry is more attractive and enjoyable whereas prose seems to be dull and monotonous. Prose is mainly like a story writing which share ideas of an author which also includes theme, summary, characters and conflicts. On the other hand, poetry is an art, which mostly consists of imagination and desire. It can also be written or said orally in a beautiful vocal tone. Poetry mainly consists of alliteration, smiley, rhythm and many more. In the poem ‘Ozymandias’ the poet narrates a conversation he had with a traveler from an antique land i.e. Egypt. The poet also says that in a desert, two huge legs of stone, with no part of the rest of the body and a huge, broken, stone face which lies near those legs, half sunk in the sand. The features on the face of the idol showed that the sculptor could interpret human emotions very well.
