Technology has only recently started to progress and has advanced a tremendous amount since 1900. Opportunities are being provided by technologies, which play an important role in human life. Technology has made access to many things easily such as receiving an education is easier, but it is also resulting in weakening the memories of people. It is bringing a change to society in both positive and negative ways; all people use and benefit from modern technology, but it has its drawbacks as well. It is useful when used in the correct place. Technology may be great, however, it brings greater safety to people's homes but at the cost of a Generation of Laziness, confidentiality, and addiction. The impact of smartphones and social networks is global. A person may develop the sense of attachment to their electronic device and to be honest people do not like sharing everything, in this case, the internet we use on our computer's, cellphone and the big data movement. The devices we purchase, come with the price of being kept under the surveillance of the government. People are not fully informed in the matters of keeping the data under check, and the people get the wrong idea by thinking public officials spy on their activity online, they fear for "their" device history and they get defensive. People do not understand the benefits of having the government keep in check of their data and history which provides safety for them. Fifty percent of teens report feeling addicted to their cell phones. The usage of a cell phone can increase anxiety and depression in teenagers and reduce self-esteem. What is an addiction? The factor or condition of becoming addicted to a particular substance, thing, or activity. When a person hears the word "addiction" the most common thoughts to them would be about drugs, alcohol, tobacco, etc. But researchers have found out that there is a new source of addiction, Technology. There are different types of addicts: internet addicts, Sexual content addicts, Social media addicts. Anyone can become an addict, Strohman says(Scott), but people with such conditions as depression, anxiety are prone to become addicted easily.
