Today’s generation: some view them as the future leaders of the world, others view them as idiotic, phone-loving, waste of space, brainless hooligans, who are only good at wasting time and money. Personally, I believe that today’s society isn’t as bad as most older generations make them seem. Celebrities have a huge impact on children. They are the biggest trend starters in today's society. One of the things that a lot of celebrities do is drugs. So imagine a child that looks up to celebrities such as Lil Wayne or Quavo, saw them doing drugs, this would show them that if they wanted to be like there idols they should do drugs too. Another celebrity who sets bad examples is our current president Donald Trump. I personally have nothing against him but he sets some really bad examples for young boys. He is constantly degrading women and making them feel lesser which also affects young women. One article where I found evidence for this was the New York Times article, “ Donald Trump’s Long Record of Degrading Women.” In this article it said in the 14th paragraph, “Mr. Trump suggested that Megyn Kelly, a Fox journalist and one of the debate moderators, had questioned him forcefully because she was menstruating.” This shows that Mr. Trump is making a journalist seem lesser because of being a woman. But this isn’t my only example another one is in paragraph 18, Mr. Trump criticized the appearance of one of his opponents, Carly Fiorina, saying she was too ugly to be elected. “Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president? I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not supposed to say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?”
