“Our Generation was born during turmoil following the first world war. That war marked the dividing line at least for the western world between the comfortable security of the 19th century and the instability and flux of our own time.” -Robert Kennedy. This event went down in history for the worst war that happened. There were many causes of World War One. The Great War was a military conflict that lasted from 1914 to 1918 which involved most of the world's great powers assembled in two opposing alliances. They consisted of Germany, Austria,Hungary, Italy (till 1913), Bulgaria, Ottoman Empire fought against the Great Britain, France, Russia (until 1917), Italy ( after 1915), Serbia, Japan, Roman, Portuguese, United States (entered in 1917),Brazil and Greece. Segregation was a big part in the war to cause they sent colored people all around to train but never let them fight in the war. Until Evan Morgan join the 107th pioneer battalion known as the “Timber Wolves”. Evan and his brother joined the “TimberWolves” because their father walked out on them when they were little.in the late 1917 the battalion was moved to Lens and it was here on December 6, that Morgan and the other blacks were sent back to lens for a rest. Cause the TimberWolves didn’t need the blacks anymore. For the soldiers of the First World War fighting was an exceptional circumstance,rather than the norm. For many, life consisted of toiling to keep those up front supplied. The determination that Evan Morgan had as a soldier probably means a lot to america and the way her tried as a segregated person in the war it was difficult for him to try to fight for his country and the rotation they took to be strongly influenced the way they fought indefinitely.
