Buddhism is a nontheistic religion founded by Siddhartha Gautama, also known as Buddha. He was born in 624 BC as a wealthy prince in Northern India, now known as Nepal. When Siddhartha got older he kept on witnessing other people’s misery and human suffering, he never knew that others could go through so much suffering. When he was 29, he retired to a forest where he followed a spiritual life of meditation. After six years he got enlightenment under a Bodhi Tree in Bodh Gaya, India. The Four Noble Truths are one of the core beliefs in Buddhism. The truth of suffering, the truth of the cause of suffering, the truth of the end of suffering, and the truth of the path that leads to the end of suffering.
