Explain The Four Pillars Of National Honor Society

The five traits of a National Junior Honor Society member are scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. I believe that I have all of these. I show scholarship because I love to learn. I have good grades in my classes. I love to learn new languages and challenge myself to do the very best in my Latin class. I love to learn about history and other countries in World Studies. Above all I love to learn more about Jesus, God, the Holy Spirit, and the Bible through Christian Studies.

Within a fellowship of individuals, honor is highly esteemed. The sharing of common attitudes and being united through service, binds a society. Being a member of the National Honors Society would bring me countless opportunities to further my academic career, allow me to give back to my community, and introduce me to accomplished student leaders who have the same perseverance I do. Academics has been a significant aspect of my life ever since I was little, I constantly try and challenge myself with rigorous courses such as honors, AP, and IB courses, I have also been on the honor roll since middle school. However, scholarship is not my only strength, as a member of numerous teams; I am familiar with the ideals of community and leadership

I feel that I should be considered for the National Honor Society Committee for an abundant number of reasons. Though I cannot list all of the reasons why, due to this paper having to be so short, I will give two phenomenal reasons why I should be elected. First, I stay forward-looking while also being straightforward with my education and work. I always plan ahead while invariably going through with what prevails to be most significant, that of which is my education. I always try hardest to accomplish everything possible to assist me to predominate in school and am always looking for an opportunity to go further on in life.

There are several different qualities that make up who I am as a person, but there are four that stand out when it comes to being a National Honor Society member. These include character, leadership, scholarship and service.

National Honor Society is a great opportunity for everyone including myself. It has standards such as scholarship, leadership, character, and service. To maintain the standards I already have most of the standards I am a smart student with a 4.0 GPA, I have great leadership and character. The only thing missing is service. I do, do service but not as much. I don’t have many opportunities to help out and volunteer. Maybe joining NJHS can help fulfill that opportunity.

The National Honor Society, NHS, was officially started by the National Association of Secondary School Principals in 1921. It started in a Pittsburg high school, but quickly grew throughout the nation. NHS has maintained a long history of admitting exemplary students into the organization. NHS developed four main tenants that have helped guide the purpose, as Zeiger (n.d.) explained: "to create enthusiasm for scholarship; to stimulate a desire to render service; to promote leadership; and to develop character in the students of secondary schools". It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. Through my relentless hard work and perseverance, I believe that I possess the four characteristics of a National Honor Society member- leadership, service, character, and scholarship.

The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential.

To be in National Junior Honor Society you have to have good character, citizenship,service, and leadership. First, I have good character. I take criticism willingly, and I also welcome recommendations. Second, I demonstrate citizenship well.Civic involvement is very important, and I have high regard to freedom, justice, and respect for the American form of government.Third, I will serve the the school and community. I 'm willing to take on difficult or inconspicuous responsibilities; I work well with others and I 'm happy to work with others. Fourth, I have leadership qualities and I exercise leadership. The four pillars of the National Honor Society consists of leadership, scholarship, service, and character. These characteristics must be possessed by an individual in order to be a member of the society. I believe that I possess all the these four qualities and should become a member of National Honor Society.
