Everybody was sent into a panic and millions of investors were wiped out. Unemployment levels began to rise after consumer spending and investment dropped, while stock prices continued to increase. Companies started to lay off their workers, and soon nearly thirteen to fifteen million people in America were without jobs. The people who were lucky enough to keep the job they had were paid much less than they were before. More and more people were becoming homeless, and some were struggling to support their family. The Great Depression was a time of hardship, businesses failed, unemployment rate sank and nothing seemed to go right, everything went left, for many especially for a man named James J. Braddock. In the movie Cinderella Man, a movie written about a family going through the Great Depression. The Braddock family have been through it all. They have gone from the top to the bottom, and back again. The journey this family faced was excruciating, and painful. Tom braddock, a.k.a the cinderella Man was on the path to becoming the most famous boxer ever seen until the Great Depression came around, he watched his dreams crumble around. Tom, and his wife and kids did their best to overcome the hard times. But, yet always believing in each other. He believed that politicians in the twentieth century did not learn their lesson from before. I'm the movie Cinderella Man, James Braddock starts off as a strong middle-class regular American. The economy is going well. James and his family live in a nice neighborhood. James wins fights and overall is having a pretty good life as an American. James is an excellent well known boxer. James Braddock is married to a woman named mMae and they have three kids with eacother; two bioys and one girl. Maeb knew that boxing was his life from the moment she met him. Mae unlike other relatives cannot assure herself into watching his brutal fights. Mae supports her husband because it is at that time the only profession he can do that keeps a roof over their head. Just like every other American at that time James has a tremendous life changing experience.

James Braddock works tirelessly to bring money in for his family during the Great Depression. James not only worked as a longshoreman, but he also boxed competitively to earn money. After working two laborious jobs and earning an income for his family, James breaks his hand. This impairment causes James a great deal of pain, but he still continues work through it. The injury was so severe that James was unable to box, and he was starting to lose his matches. The multiple loses of his boxing matches gets him fired. Consequently, the pain also causes James to not use his hand in the shipyard;

Life changed for many Americans during the Great Depression. Families were faced with many problems. Economic hardship, emotional destress and keeping the family together. Men worked many different low paying jobs just to provide shelter and place a meal on the table. Each day families were coming up against another hardship or challenge. In the movie “Cinderella Man” a man name Jim Braddock, becomes a professional boxer. Not until after he losses his business and his stocks.

The Great Depression was a time when mostly everyone started to loss their their money,business, and homes. Many people lost their jobs and that made them go to their local banks and withdraw their money, but the banks did not have their money, all the people that wanted there money back lost it all because the bankes went broke. The people were now poor and the government didn't help them.

It all started on morning day in the early 1930 when soon people looked worried about their jobs because factories were going to unemployment workers. Which was not a great thing for the the people or the factories because if the workers were unemployment they would not have money to the buy the products from the stores. So at the end the great depression had a major impact on the United states. The reason was because many men had to have at least two different jobs in order for them to bring food for his family.

The Great Depression was by far one of the worst times of America’s history, and the world’s history. The Depression affected everyone except for the politicians and the wealthy. During the depression a lot of people lost their jobs which caused the unemployment rate to sky rocket to 14% of America’s population was unemployed, and the number would stay their till World War 2, and the depression started in the 1920’s.
