The Great Depression was a memorable time in many lives. The Great Depression, which was also known as “the worst economic downturn in American history” was a tragic time for America. Many Americans lost their jobs and homes, died from hunger, and families were split up. The Great Depression challenged people economically, socially, and psychologically. America needed help. During the Great Depression, President Franklin D. Roosevelt was put into office in March of 1933 which he promised the people a “New Deal” . His goal was to help get America out of the depression, so his goals for the new deal were “relief, recovery, and reform” . The presidency of Franklin D.
