Let’s start out by saying Money cannot buy happiness. Gatsby died trying to get happiness. Gatsby once met a girl named Daisy. Daisy is Gatsby’s neighbor’s cousin. Gatsby met Daisy 5 years ago and they dated for a month or two, and then he got shipped off to WWI. Gatsby returned a war hero and inherited some money. Daisy does come alone and she recognizes Gatsby after a couple of minutes. They start to have an affair for a little while. Gatsby, Nick, and Jordan get invited to Daisy’s house. Nick get 's invited to his neighbor 's house for an extravagant party and he is instantly hooked and drawn into a plot carefully orchestrated by Gatsby in an attempt to lure Daisy back into his life. We will later discover that Gatsby left nothing to chance and that he had spent years planning for his return into Daisy 's life, hoping that he can win her back, earn her affection and dazzle her with his newly acquired wealth, charms and impeccable manners. He even bought a luxurious villa right across the pond from her home, where he spends time observing her through a spyglass. And, his plan seems to be working for a while; his wild, spare - no - expense, lavish parties and his mysterious demeanor seem to swoon Daisy who is unhappy with her philandering husband. His love for Daisy is obsessive and over barring, his hopes unrealistic and his attentions become a burden.
Daisy was unhappy in her own mansion. When Gatsby told Nick to invite him and Daisy to his home for some tea, that's when Gatsby offered other men to cut his yard so it can be neat and welcoming for Daisy then later on that day gatsby had came over to Nick house and bought flowers into Nick house not knowing that the flowers was daisy favorite. Although Nick is not as wealthy as Tom and Daisy, they see him as enough of a socially acceptable person to invite him to their house. Nick’s relative connection to Daisy, in turn, makes him attracted to Gatsby, who he has not yet met. Nick has been hand delivered an invitation to one of Gatsby’s huge parties, and unlike everyone else, he decides to go because he was actually invited. At the party, Nick is seated with a man who recognizes him and starts talking to him about the war he was in and thus being the start to a new relationship. What Nick didn’t know was that the man he was actually talking to was Gatsby.
When Gatsby met Nick he was finally able to reach Daisy. Gatsby had asked Nick to invite Daisy to tea and allow himself to join their event. Gatsby prepared the whole arrangement, from food to decorations. When Daisy arrived Gatsby was overwhelmed and embarrassed by their meeting. But soon the two became close once more chit chatting the world away.
Chapter 5 of “The Great Gatsby” is the most important chapter of the novel as Gatsby’s reunion with Daisy is the pivotal point of the plot. Before this event, their relationship is only a possibility, as Gatsby edges towards a dream that no one else is aware of. The plot changes its focus to the romance between Daisy and Gatsby, and the tensions in their relationship become real. When a history between Gatsby and Daisy is revealed, a meeting is unavoidable. As the novel explores the ideas of love and the American dream, it becomes clear that Gatsby’s ideas of emotions are out of line with the passage of time.
Gatsby’s dream is to one day be with Daisy. Gatsby knee he would have to work hard and earn a lot of money if he was to win her over. Over the next five years he fought in the war and saved his money. Where his money came from was a mystery but somehow he purchases a glorious mansion, expensive, stylish clothing, and a Rolls-Royce. These outlandish purchases were not for personal gain but to impress Daisy.
Nick invites Daisy home for a tea party without telling her that Gatsby will also be joining them. After an initially awkward situation, Gatsby and Daisy start to get attached again. Gatsby takes her home and shows her all his rich wealth and luxury. After that, their affair starts to grow and Buchannan gets suspicious of his wife’s relation with Gatsby. One day when Gatsby is invited to Daisy’s house for dinner, Buchannan conforms his doubt that Daisy is in love with Gatsby.
