The belief that anyone, regardless of race, class, gender, or nationality, can be successful in America; even rich, if they just work hard enough. The life of having happiness, money, and equal opportunity; these are just a few desires that make up the so called American Dream, but the dream is not the same for everyone. The life people strive for and the Dream is also believed by people in other countries. They leave their homeland and come to America for a better life. America is the land of opportunity, wealth, and prosperity. By working hard, being good, and honest the Dream can be achieved. In F. While many people are fortunate enough to be born rich, many are not. The people who have to work for everything have a different idea of the American dream. It is said that the idea can be based on the life of having happiness, money, and equal opportunity. Some see the Dream as being filthy rich and having everything they can imagine. In The Great Gatsby it is shown that the Dream is living rich, but many people in the world today struggle to reach that standard of wealth. Other people see the Dream as living a happy life with a house, job, and a family. The Dream differs from person to person. Society today illustrates that living the American dream is a fancy, rich lifestyle. There is no set in stone version of the dream. Everyone has their own opinion of it.
