People shouldn’t kill or disturb Loggerhead Turtles. We should save all the Loggerhead Turtles in the world and then we can have them as pets. One main reason for Loggerhead Turtle death is because of fishermen nets. We can save them by going Scuba diving. We can also save Loggerhead Turtles from reckless drivers by Scuba diving because of the debris.
I think Killer Whales should not be in captivity because, of the injures they can get in their tanks, how they get stressed out and they are better in the wild. The first reason why I think should not be in captivity is of what happens in their tank. The first piece of evidence from the PETA practical “Aquariums and Marine Parks” is that since the tanks for the orcas are usually small for them, they get insane because of the echolocation they use. This makes me think that since their fin sometimes curves, that they would get injured while swimming. In addition, this might make the whale die faster than what they are supposed to live to.
Another thing that effects the blue crab 's ecosystem is its environmental threats. To begin, one of the environmental threats that blue crabs face is pollution. In the text, it states, “Approximately 6.4 million tons of plastic and other debris enter the oceans each year. And every year., more than 1 million marine animals die from eating or getting caught in this debris,” (Dignan 13). This shows that an environmental threat that blue crabs face is pollution because if about 1 million animals are dying each year because of pollution, we have a serious problem.
Sharks, dolphins, turtles, seals and seabirds all get tangled in these nets, as by-catch, with no way to get out. Some of the animals that are caught die, either while they’re being dragged along the bottom of the ocean or when the fishermen bring them on deck and don’t put them back fast enough. FAO experts assessment concluded that there are roughly 27 million tonnes of global by-catch for every 77 million tonne catch. This statistic means almost 1/3 of every catch is by-catch. Fish populations are on the decline, no thanks to carless fishermen and their pollution.
When kept in captivity, these whales have much shorter life spans, there are consequences for not having enough room to swim around, and it creates stress and depression for these whales when they are isolated from their pods. Discontinue going to marine parks, and you will help the orcas kept in captivity be released . There are many other ways to be entertained, and each person that stops going to marine parks, will help the orcas. If enough people cease, the captivity of orcas will rightfully
This means that the protozoans would have a shrinking food source, which is an important limiting factor that has quite a considerable effect on the carrying capacity of the population of protozoans. This explains the missing protozoans, and the appearance of unmoving bacteria—replacing the usual moving, gray swath. This makes me think that pH9 did not directly kill off the protozoans; it simply killed off their food, lowering the amount of protozoans that could be fed in the habitat. I think that this explains the lack of anything living big enough to be seen, like nematodes, because everything in the food chain that size collapsed; all of the protists probably all died, and so did the fungi, such as mold, that weren’t able to decompose of the dead protozoans and other organisms. Also, the deaths of the protozoans in pH5 make sense, because acids, such as gastric acids (found in the
Whales shouldn’t be captured and put into small tanks and where it’s to a point where people’s lives are at risk and its just unfair for the whales because they deserve so much more than they are given. Owing to the fact that people love to see Tilikum jump in the air doing tricks and to eat fish as a reward there’s a bigger problem that’s at stake and a whale that might lose his life because of it. What Tilikum has to go through each and everyday and the pain he suffers is not what we want to see. In addition the marine park, which has owned Tilikum for more than two decades, said in a statement on its website that “he is suffering from an illness that probably may take his life”. Keeping the whales in these small tanks and in captivity feeding them barely enough to satisfy them is more likely they 're going to get a sickness over the rough years they have encountered .
However, in society today, people seem not to be friendly to the environment and not to value harmony in nature much. As humans do not have their natural predators, the population of humans continues to grow, which leads to an unbalanced world. Humans spend their money like playing duck and drake to purchase anything they want to own or eat regardlessly of other creatures. As the result, many animals suffer and many species even go extinct. For example, people’s desire to taste shark fin soup has tormented many sharks by having them living without fins and finally die in pain.
This is why captains are buckling down on the manatees manners. If they do not follow the rules, they will have their permit pulled away from the FWC to run their business. FWC has really cracked down on these rules and helped manatees tremendously. This is important not only to save these creatures, but our economy here in Crystal River. Even locals can avoid harassing the manatees, By slowing down and observing the manatees without harassing them.
If they did not put any restrictions or laws then the red snapper would have gone extinct. This would of lead to many disadvantages towards fishermen and restaurants economically. If there was not any action taken immediately it would of harm our environment. This shows how humans can make a huge impact. The Red Snapper is a popular fish that needs to be preserved.
Humans are expanding out into the ocean which is causing manatees to lose their habitat. Manatees live in shallow warm waters and as humans expand manatees do not have many places that they can relocate to. Manatees are like the Native Americans in the sense that they had their land taken from them. Some manatees have been relocated to zoos or other natural protected lands so they can live in the wild and not have to worry about having a food shortage or being struck by boats. In conclusion, manatees are becoming extinct because people are populating the water that manatees live in which is causing them to die.
In addition, because nesting females generally return to their natal beaches and there is a low gene flow between nesting assemblages, these populations that are genetically distinct are at risk for extirpation (Ehrhart et al. 2003). Additionally, the potential for loggerheads to choose suitable nest sites is limited by human activity. Sea turtles will be less likely to nest on beaches that have high human recreation or that have been altered by humans. Beaches that are near human development pose a threat to sea turtles, not just by human presence, but because artificial lights prevent hatchlings from being able to orient themselves toward the ocean (Lindsay 2003).
Duckweed needs oxygen in order to grow, and since there was no oxygen constantly added to the containers they turned anaerobic resulting in death (“Growing Duckweed,” 2015). The duckweed might have also died due to the lack of surface area they had in the containers, since the more surface area there is the more duckweed grows. Duckweed only need a few inches of water to grow, but need as much space possible in order to spread out and grow (“Growing Duckweed,” 2015). All three duckweed containers were narrow, causing the duckweed to crowd around each other and not be able to spread out.
People don 't understand that this doesn 't just affect whales, it also effect people to because the belugas play a very important role in our ecosystem. If we don 't stop killing or hurting them right now later down the road we will pay for it. Later on in life if you start to see overwhelming amount of bad fish for an ecosystem and they are destroying it because there are no predators to keep the fish population down. Beluga whale help keep the ocean 's ecosystem healthy by eating fish and reducing the amount of fish that are bad for an environment. Belugas also are good for the deep sea because when anything dies and falls to the abyss from the topside they go through different layers of the ocean.
Imagine a world without any fish in our ocean, nothing for the next generation no ahis mahi mahis ,marlins and many more fish we won’t have if over fish our oceans. I feel that overfishing in Hawaii is a major problem for 3 reasons such as people are taking fish that are under the size limit on the fish, another example is people are taking the fish that are the big breeders and they don’t give them a chance to repopulate and for the last example is people are taking more than they need and it could be a waste because it just sits in the freezer. The first reason I think overfishing is a major problem in Hawaii is because people are taking fish that are small and under the size limit that they should be taking. This is a problem because they are not giving the fish enough time to reproduce also that when the take the small fish is a problem because, there is not enough meat on that fish anyways so they pretty much just took that fish and wasted it because it to small. They should of have let it go to grow as they say in the island “let um go let um grow” many people
