The Great Rikki Tikki
As JK Rowling goes “It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.” Rikki Tikki Tavi was a brave young mongoose who went through a great deal of trouble, but he always stuck up for himself and the garden and his bravery showed upon his fights. He was washed away from his family and brought to a garden where he stood up for his new friends in the garden. He met many new people as well good and bad. He also had a cool thing that happens. His eyes began to turn red when he gets angry which shows when Rikki Tikki is angry in the story.

Jasper Jones In Jasper Jones, written by Craig Silvey, the main theme is courage. This is demonstrated throughout the text, that bravery is demonstrated not by being heroic instead it is by standing up for oneself or others, especially when there may be a great risk. The three characters that represent bravery the most are Charlie Bucktin, Jasper Jones and Jeffrey Lu. Jasper and Jeffrey are subjected to violence and racism by the parochial town of Corrigan while Charlie is bullied because he is intelligent and academically successful.

These demonstrations of heroism inspire people of all ages, especially young boys. One such boy was named Billy Johnson. Billy Johnson was a boy raised by his mother after his father died of cancer. O’Brien’s deliberate choice to dive into these qualities within the lines of war proves their significance and implies a deeper understanding of the complexities of human nature. In this novel, His exploration of the nature of courage and cowardice presents challenges of oversimplified ideas or narrow views on bravery and fear. By showing that even brave shoulders experience fear and doubt, and their actions can not simply be defined as courageous or cowardly.
I woke up in a dark room with a massive headache that beat like a drum. I slowly got up and tried to remember what happened. I remember a huge storm that ravaged the west coast, then a space-ship came down and started to abduct people. “Oh no, I have been abducted!” I screamed to myself.
My favorite character from unit one was Rikki-Tikki, from Rudyard Kipling’s Rikki Tikki Tavi. I liked Rikki-Tikki because he was brave, selfless, and also caring. These are all important traits. Kipling developed Rikki’s traits early in the story. At first, he seemed helpless, especially when he was saved by Teddy and his family.
Bravery is performed everyday by many people, and it has played a big part in World War 2. World War 2 was a horrible time for the Jews due to the Germans and Adolf Hitler. In order for the Jews to survive, they had to trust their faith and do the unthinkable. They had to give up their children to other people knowing that they might not see them again. They needed to act brave for their families and ensure they had solace.

While the cobras are slaughtering Rikki's family for their own.
The Revolution of Heroism In modern times, people toss around the word hero, but the idea of heroism through the centuries has never perished. What is exactly as a hero? A hero is not someone that can fly or has super strength. A hero maybe someone who is fighting for their people, to someone that crushes fear, or to an average person that sacrifices themselfs for people in need. Overtime, the evolution of a hero has changed drastically.
Louie Zamperini was stranded in the middle of the ocean, on a raft for 47 days, then endured over 2 abusive years in POW camps. Louie was born a troublemaker and became a troublesome boy, but his brother, Pete, led him into the career of running, which loomed in his life until he passed. Later, he enlisted into the army and his bomber went down, Louie and Phil made it to Japanese camps, unlike the third crewmate, and luckily survived the harsh treatments of the camps for 2 years. Louie came back to America and decided to live his life to the fullest and take nothing for granted. In the novel Unbroken, by Laura Hillenbrand, she uses Louie’s real life experiences to show his two most important traits: courageousness and determination.
Throughout Salt to the Sea many characters exhibit acts of bravery. Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys takes place in one of the most saddening and violent times in history, World War II. During this time period families were separated, and children killed. The characters in the novel all demonstrate bravery in a variety of ways during their journey. However, Joana, the girl who protected and nursed the characters shows the most bravery.
